00:00More than 2 million families, or almost 8 million individuals, were affected by the Christine and Leon earthquake.
00:08The government continues to distribute aid, which has already distributed more than 1 billion pesos worth of aid.
00:16This is the latest news of Bian Manalo.
00:20Following the impact of the Christine and Leon earthquake last week,
00:25particularly in Calabarzon, Bicol Region, and Extreme Northern Luzon,
00:30many infrastructure and livelihoods were damaged and many lives were lost.
00:36According to the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council, or NDRRMC,
00:42more than 2 million families, or almost 8 million individuals, were affected by the earthquake.
00:50More than 150 individuals were affected.
00:54More than 130 people were injured, while 20 people were lost.
01:00More than 200 towns and municipalities in the country were affected by the State of Calamity.
01:05More than 30 people lost their homes.
01:08Seven maritime incidents, while more than 100 places were submerged in floodwaters.
01:13Many roads and roads were not accessible, particularly in Calabarzon.
01:18Some villages and towns were also non-operational until now.
01:23And some towns and municipalities still do not have electricity and water supply
01:28and are still experiencing communication problems.
01:32But before the Christine and Leon earthquake hit,
01:36more than 40,000 families, or more than 160,000 individuals, were the first to be saved.
01:44More than 5 billion pesos were lost in the agriculture sector,
01:50while more than 7 billion pesos were lost in the infrastructure sector,
01:54and almost 200,000 houses were lost.
01:58The Department of Social Welfare and Development, or DSWD,
02:03Office of Civil Defense, local governments, and NGOs
02:08brought more than 1 billion pesos worth of food and non-food items.
02:13Even though some neighboring countries are already asking for help.
02:17At the moment, we are still ongoing disaster response operations
02:21where we are augmenting the resources of local government units.
02:25The Department of Public Works and Highways, or DPWH,
02:29continues with their clearing operations, declogging and cleaning of drainage
02:34and repairing of damaged roads.
02:37The government's assistance in Bicol and Calabarzon is also in full swing.
