00:00More than 70,000 workers were affected by the typhoon Christine in Calabarzona

00:05when the government provided assistance through the Department of Labor and Employment's Tupad Program.

00:16The Department of Labor and Employment or DOLE-Calabarzona spent P424 million

00:23for the rollout of the Disadvantaged Workers or Tupad Program.

00:29More than 70,000 Disadvantaged Workers were affected by the typhoon Christine in the region when the government provided assistance.

00:38Batangas received P170 million for almost 30,000 beneficiaries.

00:45Cavite received P80 million for more than 14,000 beneficiaries.

00:52Laguna received P80 million for more than 14,000 beneficiaries.

00:58More than P60 million for the province of Quezon.

01:02And more than P16 million for the province of Rizala.

01:06In exchange, beneficiaries need to work within 10 days

01:12that are related to community clean-up, debris clearing, and rehabilitation of public infrastructure.

01:19To the people who lost their livelihood or job,

01:23they can contact our offices or the nearest public employment services office.

01:30All municipalities and provinces have such offices.

01:35More than P30 million worth of cash for work wages were distributed by DOLE

01:42to those affected by the typhoon in some places in Bicol Region.

01:46It is still a part of the Disadvantaged Workers Assistance Program of the agency.

01:52More than 7,000 beneficiaries received assistance.

01:56The distribution of assistance in the region started on October 28 and will last until November 5.

02:03To the workers, companies, and offices,

02:08before or after the typhoon,

02:13we made sure that they are safe and far from any misfortune.

02:21The beneficiaries of the assistance program helped in the construction of a road in Marigundo, North Romblona.

02:28The road serves as a road to the town proper.

02:32DOLE promised that it will continue to provide work to the disadvantaged workers in the region

02:39through the assistance program.

02:41The beneficiaries received P395,

02:45which is the highest minimum wage in the region.
