00:00This inquest first began back in 2019.
00:05It's now been going for more than five years.
00:08When it began back in 2019, it went for around 18 months and included dozens of witnesses
00:13and several persons of interest that were examined before it then wrapped up and we
00:17were expecting the coroner to deliver findings in the case in the year after.
00:22But police then notified the coroner they had a new theory which centered around William's
00:27foster mother.
00:28And for the past few years, they have investigated that theory, including conducting another
00:33extensive search in Kendall where William disappeared.
00:37So we have resumed again today for yet another set of hearings for them to present any evidence
00:42they may have gathered to support their theory about William's foster mother.
00:47We heard in court this morning that that theory is that William may have died in an accident
00:51on the property, that his body was then discovered by his foster mother who panicked and hid
00:56his body out of fear of losing another child in their care.
01:01So the hearings this week, we will hear evidence on the recent search in regards to that theory
01:06as well as other witnesses who may have any testimony about this potential theory, but
01:12it's not known yet whether they found any concrete evidence to support what their belief
01:17was.
01:18And as we heard in court this morning, there's no suggestion that the foster mother is responsible
01:23She has always denied any involvement in what happened to her foster son.
01:27After these last set of hearings are wrapped up, we expect the coroner to finally deliver
01:32her findings next year.
