00:00A fundraising project called Christmas Village of Love was opened in Cebu City

00:06where all proceeds will go to children with chronic illnesses and cancer.

00:11This is Jesse Atienza of PTV Cebu.

00:15Small and colorful miniature houses were brought together

00:20in a miniature village that was opened to the public in a mall,

00:24the Christmas Village of Love.

00:27The project was led by the Mandawi Chamber of Commerce and Industry

00:30together with several private sectors.

00:33This project will be a source of funding

00:35for children with chronic illnesses and cancer.

00:39Basically, this entire collection is displayed throughout the Christmas season

00:44and people adopt the houses if they pay Php 5,000,

00:47their name or logo or even their picture, right?

00:50If they want to put it there, they want to propose to somebody

00:53and they would put there, will you marry me, something like that.

00:57For Php 5,000, the house will be named after them.

01:00And then for the village, a company can sponsor the entire village.

01:04For Php 50,000, we put up a parole with their logo

01:08and a big signage in the village for that company.

01:12According to the organizers,

01:13there are more than 600 miniature houses on display.

01:17Most of them are collector's items.

01:21There are also paintings on display from the Cebuano Arts Club.

01:25Many youths also volunteered to set up the entire village.

01:29I feel very, very fulfilled knowing that these beautiful houses

01:35get to support these children with cancer

01:38and get to help them fight through their journey.

01:41And I hope that these children also will be able to find the motivation

01:44and the courage to get up to fight this battle.

01:47We are very thankful to the organizations

01:50that are the beneficiaries of the fundraising project.

01:53We are very thankful.

01:56It's not just financial and medical support,

02:00but also the psychosocial and emotional support that they give.

02:05This is the 4th year of Christmas Village of Love.

02:08It's an opportunity for our countrymen to share

02:12for those in need.
