00:23This is just a few of the effects of the strong typhoon.

00:27The President said that this proves that the threat of climate change is continuing

00:32so even places that were not flooded before are now submerged in floodwaters.

00:38So, as a preparation for the upcoming Climate Change Awareness Week,

00:43the Climate Change Commission again discussed the importance of the National Adaptation Plan

00:49in accordance with the President's Directive.

00:52The President wants this to be localized, that's why we are preparing for localization.

00:58It is also important for us to consult with different agencies of our government

01:04because NAP is a product of inter-agency consultations.

01:10The opening of the Philippines is also included in NAP

01:14for the possible help of our bilateral partners and several parts of the international community.

01:20At NAP, we're opening the doors for our bilateral partners and also international agencies

01:27to provide three things.

01:29First, capacity building.

01:33Second, technology development and transfer,

01:36which is increasingly becoming important by way of early warning systems

01:43and also the science that deals with climate change.

01:46And third, climate finance.

01:48The CCC is also continuously coordinating with DILG, DENR, and other agencies

01:55to bring to the masses the importance of fighting climate change.

02:00The authority's role is big in reminding people

02:05about the possible dangers of a storm or any other disaster.

02:09But it is our responsibility to understand their warnings

02:14so that everyone can be safe.
