00:20part of the Tyre Safety Month, was only 16% of those surveyed in Bristol check their tyre
00:27tread depth every month, which is the recommended frequency to check your tyres.
00:33On a national level, only 36% of people knew the correct potential licence penalty for
00:39insufficient tread depth, which is three points on their licence for an illegal tyre.
00:46To help combat this, companies such as Bristol Street Motors are highlighting how drivers
00:52can check their tyres, including inserting a 20p coin into the grooves of a tyre to
00:57check its tread.
