Transcript
00:00I am not seven years old anymore, Aunt Trunchbull.
00:03Welcome to WatchMojo, and today we're counting down our picks for the most satisfying times cinematic tormentors got put in their place.
00:16Number 30, Taking Things Outside, Roadhouse.
00:20When Elwood Dalton becomes a bouncer at a bar, the rough and rowdy customers underestimate him.
00:25This entertaining fight showcases the man's skills with multiple assailants.
00:28As a group of angry bikers mess with patrons, Dalton takes matters into his own hands.
00:34Ow, I just slapped you, are you alright?
00:36He does it all with a blend of humor, directness, and UFC training.
00:40His nimble and intricate movements drop one guy after the other, showing that he hasn't lost his octagon mentality.
00:49Gyllenhaal is more than capable here as an action hero, as each slap and punch lands with authenticity.
00:55Dalton was willing to call it a draw, but he is the clear victor here.
01:05Number 29, Mark Humiliates Stan, Seventeen Again.
01:09Given the chance to become a teenager once more, Mike O'Donnell, posing as new kid Mark Gold, befriends his son Alex in high school.
01:16He also comes face to face with his kid's tormentor in this satisfying scene.
01:20You don't talk to him that way.
01:23Stan might be the jock, but he's no match for an adult's wisdom and experience.
01:27Mike stands up for his son in the lunchroom, humiliating the jerk in front of a group of students.
01:32Like a caveman, Stan's brain is underdeveloped.
01:38The main character doesn't need fighting skills to take down his opponent either.
01:41Showing off a few basketball moves, the lead dishes out a mental beatdown that could likely cause some emotional scarring.
01:48Don't hurt yourself, big boy.
01:51Number 28, Telling Off Steph, Pretty in Pink.
01:54Whether you're Team Blaine or not, this scene in Pretty in Pink does give the character a chance to redeem himself.
01:59He confronts his popular friend Steph McKee, and lays down a harsh assessment of the latter's personality.
02:05You buy everything, Steph. You couldn't buy her though, that's what's killing you, isn't it?
02:09Steph completely deserves it considering his gross, greedy, and selfish attitude.
02:14In only a few words, this speech gives the villain a taste of his own medicine.
02:19She thinks she's shit.
02:22And deep down, you know she's right.
02:24James Spader plays the antagonist so well that you're practically cheering when someone finally stands up to McKee.
02:29Some people deserve to hear the awful truth about themselves.
02:32This classic 80s film wouldn't be complete without this confrontation.
02:41Number 27, Just Desserts, The Princess Diaries.
02:45Mia Thermopolis might have a connection to royalty, but she still has to deal with everyday problems in high school.
02:51She comes up against cheerleader Lana Thomas here after enduring a string of insults.
03:00Unfortunately for Lana, she doesn't consider that the hero's ice cream might come into play.
03:04Mia decides to ruin the mean girl's uniform in a hilarious surprise.
03:08The only thing that makes the moment better is Vice Principal Gupta's reaction courtesy of Sandra Oh.
03:23It makes us wish that we had the same idea in school.
03:26Lana truly got her Just Desserts.
03:28Number 26, Sammy Makes Logan Cry, The Fablemans.
03:32As a semi-autobiographical look at Steven Spielberg's life,
03:35this film follows Sammy Fableman as he dreams of being a filmmaker.
03:39His final encounter with the hate-filled Logan and Chad is more eye-opening than anybody would have expected.
03:45When the hero makes a movie of his class, he ends up turning one of his arch-nemeses into a hero.
03:50This causes an unexpected confrontation whereby Fableman dishes out all his feelings about life, art, and Logan himself.
03:57What's the matter with you? I've been a total asshole to you. I broke your nose.
04:02It is a stirring and emotional scene that digs much deeper than a typical argument.
04:06And that's not me. That's... it's...
04:10Goddammit!
04:11Logan may or may not have turned a corner, but he's convinced enough to defend Sammy from Chad.
04:16Spielberg lets the moment speak for itself, asking viewers to consider why people feel compelled to pick on others at all.
04:23Would you tell anybody about me getting, um... upset?
04:28That would be a mistake.
04:35In this adaptation of the classic S.E. Hinton novel, the poor greasers find themselves in a feud with the rich kids, or socias.
04:41This all comes to a head in a climactic rumble.
04:44Both gangs face off, despite the rough conditions.
04:53The heroes assemble as they teach their spoiled rivals a lesson.
04:56It might not be pretty, but this rain-soaked brawl does feel like a cathartic moment for the remaining ensemble.
05:04The complicated tale of teenage violence leads to a triumphant victory for the boys, even with the tragedy in The Outsiders.
05:11This win still illustrates how far they'll go to prove themselves against the upper-class jerks.
05:24Adam's family values.
05:31What happens when you send the Adams family children to camp?
05:34In this sequel, Wednesday and Pugsley show that they are not to be trusted with a childhood tradition.
05:39During their Thanksgiving play, the siblings revolt against their happy-go-lucky campers.
05:44And for all these reasons, I've decided to scalp you and burn your village to the ground.
05:51The outcasts prove they may look or act different, but they don't let anybody tell them what to do.
05:56They also prove how resourceful the Adams family can be in a daring escape.
06:00With a dash of dark humor, this scene shows what happens when kids rebel against conformity.
06:05We certainly would not want to cross this brother and sister.
06:15Number 23, Cantina.
06:17Star Wars Episode IV, A New Hope.
06:19The most icely Cantina is full of colorful characters, but not all of them are friendly.
06:24Luke Skywalker then finds himself up against two unsavory beings.
06:28He doesn't like you.
06:30When it looks like a fight might start, a lightsaber emerges to sever one of the Aqualish mercenaries' arms.
06:35Obi-Wan Kenobi enters the fold in a memorable save from the Jedi Master.
06:40The wise man doesn't take kindly to anyone picking on people, giving the enemy a permanent mark they'll never forget.
06:49It all happens so quickly that only fast reflexes can save the day.
06:52While he might seem older, Kenobi hasn't lost any of his edge whenever somebody needs taking down a peg or arm.
06:59I'm alright.
07:03Number 22, Psychokinetic Fight, Matilda.
07:06Using her powers of telekinesis, Matilda Wormwood is able to scare Miss Agatha Trunchbull.
07:11The protagonist and the rest of the students have been treated so poorly by the principal that this scene cannot come soon enough.
07:17Wormwood freaks out Trunchbull by writing a message on the chalkboard, later sending erasers after the villain.
07:24It's an effective sequence that reminds viewers why this antagonist doesn't deserve any mercy.
07:29The baddie tries to fight back, but she later gets food thrown at her before being chased from the school.
07:40Most of the student body eventually comes together to offer up a memorable dose of revenge.
07:46Number 21, Hermione Punches Draco, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban.
07:51After everything that Draco Malfoy has done, this moment is well-deserved.
07:56The jerk spends two movies being insufferable before somebody finally snaps.
08:00Hermione spots the Slytherin from afar, gloating over his death.
08:04Hermione and the rest of the students have been treated so poorly by the principal that this scene cannot come soon enough.
08:10The jerk spends two movies being insufferable before somebody finally snaps.
08:13Hermione spots the Slytherin from afar, gloating over his latest misdeed,
08:17and approaches him with the laser focus of a prize fighter.
08:24She threatens him with her wand and even makes him cry for a change.
08:28Before it's all over, the lovable Gryffindor throws not a spell, but a fist into Malfoy's face.
08:34We can't feel too bad for somebody that personifies all of our childhood nightmares put together.
08:39While not everyone's real-life tormentors can be punished, in this scene, Malfoy gets his glorious comeuppance.
08:57If you put yourself in the shoes of someone who's about to be chased down and violently beaten with a paddle,
09:02then we'd totally understand if you get the impulse to run.
09:09But when the man wielding the paddle is Fred O'Banion,
09:12you might be well advised to take your lumps because if you defy him, there is little chance he will let it go.
09:18But these guys don't.
09:19Crafting a scheme of their own, a group of his intended prey pours paint all over him and runs off into the night,
09:25leaving Fred embarrassed and very angry.
09:33It's truly epic to watch him drive over a curb and realize his car seat must be covered in paint.
09:39Dammit!
09:50Andy should take a lesson from his daughter on how to deal with bullies.
09:53With a little help from Big Sean, Ally gets some revenge on her abuser in the form of public humiliation.
09:59The shock and discomfort on the faces of the entire audience are palpable,
10:04as Ally fearlessly dedicates an impassioned, uncensored performance of an appropriately titled Big Sean track.
10:18On top of the shock factor of seeing a young girl sing the explicit song,
10:21the scene also drives the plot of the movie forward, as Ally's bold actions inspire Andy to stand up to his own bully.
10:28After her jaw-dropping performance, she exits the stage to a standing ovation.
10:35That's my girl!
10:53If you haven't had the pleasure of watching Mean Girls, you are missing out.
10:57Written by Tina Fey, it's a great film that leaves you loving its characters, even the outright awful Regina George.
11:03Get in, loser! We're going shopping!
11:05When all of the young women in this teen comedy make peace, she is the only one who can't or won't take part.
11:11This makes the audience pity her for the briefest of moments.
11:15Oh, yeah, Katie? You know my friend Katie.
11:17She, uh, she made out with Regina's boyfriend and then convinced him to break up with her.
11:21Oh, God! And we gave you foot cream instead of face wash.
11:24Despite her humanity, though, Regina is not at all kind and deserves to be the odd woman out.
11:30You can take that fake apology and shove it right up your...
11:34Being hit by a bus may be a cruel punishment, but it is also hilarious.
11:38And that's how Regina George died.
11:41No, I'm totally kidding, but she did get hurt.
11:52Sometimes the worst bullies disguise themselves as friends.
11:56It all started out so innocently.
11:58The four witches experimented with magic and learned some spells to help them right a few wrongs in their lives.
12:03But after witnessing the heavy toll their spells take, Sarah wants to stop.
12:07You guys are freaking me out.
12:10Oh, she's scared!
12:12The coven refuses and turns on Sarah, sending her haunting images in her dreams.
12:18While Sarah fights back, much worse than any physical or verbal retaliation,
12:22she gets inside their minds with her own powers, causing Bonnie and Rochelle to experience their worst nightmares.
12:29Mad with power, Nancy tries to kill Sarah.
12:32But the heroine sentences Nancy to the worst fate of all, binding her from ever using magic again.
12:48When Harry and Lloyd set out on the road to return a briefcase,
12:51they don't have survival instincts or intelligence to rely on.
12:54But when they encounter a man only known as Sea Bass,
12:57who makes them feel small and spits in their food, the unlikely happens.
13:04Hit with what we can only assume is divine inspiration,
13:07they actually outmaneuver their adversary and trick him into unknowingly taking on their tab.
13:13Well, if, uh, that guy at the table over there is Sea Bass...
13:19It's hysterical and surprising.
13:21Although, things do get awkward when Lloyd runs into Sea Bass later.
13:25Find a happy place.
13:29Jack beats up Bobby, a history of violence.
13:52Jack appears to be the mild-mannered type, who uses humor to avoid bad situations with bullies,
13:57and walks away rather than fight.
13:59But when Bobby and his crew refuse to let him walk away, Jack loses his sense of humor.
14:06Just as Bobby is taunting him by sarcastically saying that his father,
14:10who's been dubbed a town hero for taking down two robbers at his diner single-handedly,
14:14would be so proud of him, Jack clobbers them all.
14:18Bobby definitely isn't laughing now.
14:20As it turns out, Jack is a chip off the old block after all.
14:28Awful apples. Goodwill hunting.
14:35Have you ever met someone who desperately wants you to know how smart they are?
14:47We have.
14:48Which is why it's so great to watch one of these pretentious pricks be absolutely schooled.
14:53A ponytail-sporting douche desiring to make strangers look inferior in order to impress ladies and bystanders,
14:59this blonde bar patron proves that knowledge flaunted is knowledge wasted.
15:04Enter Will Hunting, a genius who really is the smartest guy in the room.
15:23Were you gonna plagiarize the whole thing for us? Do you have any thoughts of your own on this matter?
15:28Proving that the mind is more powerful than a pair of fists, Will swiftly puts the jerk in his place.
15:33Do you like apples?
15:37Yeah.
15:40Well, I got a number. How do you like them apples?
15:48Do I know you?
15:49Do you know Robbie Weirdick?
15:53Can you picture Dwayne The Rock Johnson getting bullied?
15:56Well, Robbie Weirdick was the victim of a pretty cruel senior prank,
16:00thanks to Trevor Olsen that left him naked and embarrassed in front of the entire senior class.
16:0520 years later, Trevor is still just as big of a bully as ever.
16:09But Robbie Weirdick, now CIA agent Bob Stone, certainly has changed.
16:14And he doesn't like bullies.
16:16Good God, you're dumb. Dumber than ever, I guess.
16:20At their high school reunion, Bob finally gets two decades of pent-up revenge on his old nemesis with a simple punch to the face.
16:27Still a scared little bitch.
16:33I don't like bullies.
16:34This is followed by a speech about what it means to be the true hero of your own story,
16:39and a cathartic twist on the prank Trevor pulled on him.
16:42Realizing that in life, the most important thing that you can be is yourself.
16:53When we're introduced to Flash Thompson in the first Spider-Man film,
16:56he seemed like the type of guy who would make life difficult for many fellow students.
17:03Peter Parker, on the other hand, seemed like the type of guy that the strong-willed could walk all over with ease.
17:09I think you're pretty funny, don't you, freak?
17:10Flash, it was just an accident.
17:12My fist breaking your teeth, that's the accident.
17:14There is a hint of an inner fortitude in puny Peter, however.
17:17With the bite of a radioactive spider, the power balance is reversed.
17:31Though Peter may not have been entirely comfortable with the unfamiliar outcome, we sure were.
17:36Peter, that was amazing.
17:40I'm out of here.
17:50Oh, no! Sid!
17:52Sid is vicious.
17:54Every toy in the neighborhood knows that if you get lost in Sid's yard, you never return.
17:59So when Sid gets his hands on Buzz, Woody pulls out all the stops to save him from being destroyed.
18:10In perhaps the most memorable scene in the movie, Woody teams up with Sid's misfit toys that come to life.
18:15They emerge from the sandbox and the muddy puddles in his backyard to scare the ten-year-old straight.
18:21They don't just save Buzz, they make sure Sid never hurts another toy again.
18:26You and me, we're gonna have a fight today, after school.
18:30Three o'clock, in the parking lot.
18:32Buddy Revell is the type of person that makes you want to cross the street instead of having to walk by him.
18:37Why don't I give you a little help?
18:47Oh, no!
18:48Oh, no!
18:49Oh, no!
18:50Oh, no!
18:51Oh, no!
18:52Oh, no!
18:53Oh, no!
18:54Oh, no!
18:56When Jerry, a fellow student, is assigned by the school paper to question him,
19:01he arouses Buddy's ire and wins a date with his fists.
19:05There, now it's your turn.
19:08Jerry's destruction is seemingly set for the end of the school day.
19:12After choosing to pay him off, Jerry receives a sincere and severe insult that inspires him to not only stand up for himself,
19:19but also challenge the beast to a fight.
19:26Ah!
19:30Aided by brass knuckles, Jerry knocks his massive adversary out and wins the day.
19:39Ah!
19:49Number 9, The Sixth Stick, Kick-Ass 2
19:52Get a cellphone?
19:54Gonna call for help with a comeback?
19:57Actually...
19:59It's hard to imagine a girl who can kill a man with his own finger feeling vulnerable.
20:03But after Brooke and her crew pretend to be Mindy's friends and then ditch her in the woods, Mindy is shaken.
20:09Newsflash, you're not special.
20:14F*** with the queen bee and you're gonna get stung.
20:17Taking some advice from her robin, Mindy beats them at their own game.
20:21These mean girls may wear a pretty popular and pristine costume,
20:24but one touch from The Sixth Stick and all that ugliness they have on the inside up chucks right out.
20:30Everyone dreams about getting the ultimate revenge on a bully.
20:33Well, this scene has everything you could possibly want.
20:36An epic speech, public humiliation and the perfect soundtrack.
20:40I don't wanna win. I just wanna make the world a better place.
20:45Number 8, Prom Pyrotechnics, Carrie
20:48You eat s***.
20:49Carrie White is an innocent soul who has spent her life under the thumb of everyone around her,
20:54whether it's the supposed cool kids or her possessive mother.
21:07Beset by her maturing body and dastardly peers,
21:10she's set up to feel accepted until the moment it's all pulled away from her.
21:20Fueled by telekinetic powers and an anger that only a lifetime of abuse can foster,
21:26she then unleashes hell upon prom and particularly those who trespassed against her.
21:37Number 7, Rock War, It
21:43Where you off to, tits?
21:45When Henry Bowers and his crew of bullies are beating up on the homeschooled kid Mike,
21:49the Losers Club shows up and evens the battlefield.
21:52Just as Henry's about to bludgeon Mike with a rock,
21:55Beverly bludgeons Henry first.
22:00This action incites a full-on rock war that sends the bullies running away like a bunch of cowards.
22:05The shocked and pained look on Henry Bowers' face as the Losers pummel them is the ultimate vindication.
22:11The Losers are the winners here.
22:13Go blow your dad, you mullet-wearing asshole!
22:18Number 6, Ralphie's Revenge, A Christmas Story
22:28A Christmas Story does a delightful job of capturing the wonder and whimsy of childhood.
22:32It isn't afraid to address the darker, colder moments of youth either, though.
22:36Listen, jerk, when I tell you to come, you better come.
22:41Ralphie is one of the most beloved characters in film history.
22:44So, the neighborhood bullies that frighten him and his friends make us both uncomfortable and angry.
22:54When our little man loses his cool and mercilessly pounds Scud all the while spouting profanity,
23:00the relief we feel is incredibly powerful.
23:12Number 5, Gordy's Gun, Stand By Me
23:25Kiefer Sutherland may have gone on to play one of the greatest TV heroes of all time in 24,
23:30but he plays a very different sort of character here.
23:33This is your last chance. What do you say, kid?
23:37Looking like evil incarnate, Ace Merrill would be terrifying even to grown men,
23:42yet he spends his time contending with a foursome of young friends.
23:45You're gonna have to kill me, Ace.
23:47No problem.
23:50Young Gordy, played by nerd icon Will Wheaton, is the farthest thing from fearsome,
23:55which is why it's so satisfying when he pulls a gun and stands up for himself and his friends
24:00in this scene from the coming-of-age drama.
24:02Kids, please do not try this at home.
24:08Number 4, Chair Revenge, Moonlight
24:17The only way to really deal with a bully is to stand up to them.
24:20After the school bully Terrell gets Chiron's best friend Kevin to beat him up,
24:24Chiron takes a four-pronged stance with the help of a chair.
24:28Chiron walks into class with a sense of purpose,
24:30picks up an empty chair and smashes him over the head with it.
24:34Simple yet effective.
24:41What makes this scene so memorable is that it comes completely out of left field
24:45with no warning and no build-up.
24:48Number 3, Bar Fight, Kingsman The Secret Service
24:52You think you can chat shit about us and we won't do nothing
24:54just because our governor's banging Eggsy's mom?
24:56Pretty much.
24:59When Eggsy finds himself in trouble with his neighborhood thugs,
25:02his new friend and mentor Harry steps in and attempts to teach them this very important lesson.
25:08But the thugs persist and Harry challenges them to a fight.
25:12Manners...
25:14maketh...
25:18man.
25:20To their and Eggsy's surprise,
25:22he takes out all of them with the most unlikely of weapons,
25:25his trusty umbrella.
25:27Each new trick that the umbrella possesses,
25:29such as its bulletproof quality and stun gun setting,
25:32make the fight even more epic.
25:37This scene is so epic that the movie calls back to it in a mid-credits scene,
25:41where Eggsy gives the exact same thugs a second lesson in manners.
25:50Number 2, Beaten Biff, Back to the Future
25:58The villain of Back to the Future,
26:00Biff Tannen seems like a typical bully that comes from a long line of bullies.
26:12Spending his days threatening others with violence and extorting schoolwork,
26:15the only thing that makes him stand out is how entertaining he is at first sight.
26:23Then we watch Biff interact with Lorraine Baines and recognize that he will stop at nothing to get what he wants.
26:29You know you want me to give it to you.
26:31Shut your filthy mouth. I'm not that kind of girl.
26:35Well, maybe you are and you just don't know it yet.
26:37In the other corner, there's the weak and scared George McFly that couldn't hurt, well, a fly.
26:43In the end, however, Marty's father turns it all around and knocks Biff out in a single blow.
26:53For us, there is almost nothing better.

27:14Number 1, The Final Fight with Daniel and Johnny, The Karate Kid
27:18One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight.
27:23To keep Daniel from being relentlessly and continuously beaten up by Johnny Lawrence of Cobra Kai,
27:28Mr. Miyagi makes a deal that the two will fight once and for all at the upcoming karate tournament.
27:33He wants to learn karate. Well, here's your first lesson, how to take a ball.
27:38Hey, don't think about the head.
27:40Though Mr. Miyagi is a skilled teacher, Daniel is the least experienced student at the tournament,
27:45yet fights his way all the way to the finals to face Johnny.
27:52Overcoming intimidation tactics and cheap shots, Daniel wins the match with the legendary crane kick.
27:58In the end, Johnny is changed by the experience.
28:01Daniel doesn't just beat him, he earns his respect.
28:06Which scene featuring tormentors from the last decade resonated with you?
