00:00Good news for us, fellow countrymen,

00:02because the Department of Transportation has an early Christmas for our fellow countrymen,

00:08especially for the people of Cavite.

00:11This is because this month,

00:13the LRT-1 Cavite Extension will embark on its Phase 1 trip.

00:18Isaiah Mirafuentes is in the center of the news.

00:24After more than six years of waiting,

00:26this month, the LRT-1 Cavite Extension will embark on its Phase 1 trip.

00:31There will be five additional stations under Phase 1.

00:35These are the Redemptory Station,

00:38Mia Road Station,

00:39Asia World Station,

00:41Ninoy Aquino Avenue Station,

00:43and Dr. Santos Avenue Station.

00:46It is expected that Phase 1 of the LRT-1 Cavite Extension will open this month of November.

00:53This is what DOTR Secretary Jaime Bautista said.

00:56We are here to announce the partial opening of the Light Rail Transit Line 1 Extension.

01:06This is the Cavite Extension.

01:08This will be a big achievement for commuters,

01:12just like Michael, from Bacoora.

01:14He is happy because he will save a lot of time and money.

01:20It is better for us Filipinos to invest

01:25so that we can reach Metro Manila faster,

01:29especially for the people in Cavite.

01:33The transaction will be faster, especially for the workers.

01:37The LRT-1 will open a new line of six kilometers long.

01:41So, our current trip from Fernandez Po, Jr. to Baclaran,

01:48that's a total of, I think, 35 pesos total.

01:51Now, because of this additional six kilometers and additional five stations,

01:55then there is a corresponding increment in terms of distance.

02:00So, we're looking at around, I think it's going to be 45 pesos.

02:05It is expected that 80,000 passengers will be served by the LRT-1

02:11because of these additional stations.

02:14In addition, the LRT-1 currently has more than 320,000 daily rideships.

02:20Commuters will save up to 30 minutes

02:24when the LRT-1 additional line is opened.

02:28Maybe, traveling will be easier.

02:30It will be easier for the commuters.

02:34From the 20-kilometer-long LRT-1,

02:37now, it will reach 26 kilometers.

02:40According to DOTR Secretary Jaime Bautista,

02:44this is an early Christmas gift

02:47for residents living in areas near the new train line.

02:52The government also hopes that this will be a big hit

02:55to reduce the heavy traffic.

02:59This is the first railway project

03:02that will be opened under the administration of Marcos.

03:06They will also discuss the importance of free rides.

03:14to provide free rides at this point in time.

03:40because the issue of the right-of-way is still being resolved.

03:45is to complete this under the current administration.
