00:00The Cubs don't have a star.
00:01We say it all the time.
00:02Chicago sports doesn't really have a star, but the Cubs, unless they get
00:06really creative this off season, it looks like they're going into next year.
00:10The plan is to just like they went into last year with a lot of really good
00:13players, hoping that they over outperform, maybe a couple of guys
00:19have career years and you eke into the playoffs, maybe it's an 83 win team.
00:23We heard Craig council.
00:24They'll say you need to be a 90 win team.
00:26I think that puts the pressure on a little bit.
00:28Absolutely.
00:29The Mets got in by one game with 89 wins.
00:32Right.
00:32And there was a team that had 89 wins that did not get in.
00:35So I agree.
00:35I mean, there was that one year where the diamondbacks got in with 84, 85 wins,
00:40but I agree, you can need to be a 90 win team.
00:42Can they do it by enhancing the rotation?
00:44Maybe I could see Max freed as a guy that would really help them a lot.
00:48That would be a big one.
00:49If they could get him, that may be worth five games.
00:52Um, you know, you could do it through the pitching there.
00:55They're positional players.
00:57They do look solid.
00:59Maybe Crow Armstrong will take a step offensively.
01:02Maybe they'll get some improvement from some of their younger guys.
01:05You got to figure Horner is going to be better.
01:07You've got to figure Swanson's going to be better.
01:09They've got guys who had kind of off years and, you know, they probably
01:13should have won more games than they did with the talent they have.
01:16They're probably figuring that, but, um, yeah, solid and cheap.
01:19They like that.
