00:00President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. has been productive the whole week
00:04where his activities include helping the victims of the recent typhoons.
00:12Here is the report.
00:16First on President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.'s list of activities this week
00:20is the visit to the victims of the Christine typhoon in the province of Batangas.
00:24The Office of the President provided financial assistance to the victims of the typhoon,
00:29particularly to farmers and fishermen who will use it for their re-start.
00:34He also inspected the Bugaan Bridge,
00:36a critical structure in Laurel, Batangas that connects to the barangays
00:41where the President ordered the DPWH to focus on the rehabilitation of the victims.
00:46The Executive Board also visited a mass for the victims of the typhoon Christine
00:51as a reminder on the day of National Mourning declared by the palace.
00:55The President and Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim also had a meeting
01:00where the President expressed his gratitude for the assistance given by Malaysia
01:04following the disaster of the Christine typhoon.
01:06On Tuesday, the President held the 22nd NEDA Board Meeting
01:10where some adjustments to flood control projects were approved,
01:13particularly the Cavite Industrial Area Flood Risk Management Project
01:17and Pasig Marikina River Channel Improvement Project Phase 4.
01:21The acquisition of 40 units of Fast Patrol Craft was also approved.
01:25On Wednesday, the President returned to Bicol Region
01:27to provide additional assistance to the victims of the typhoon.
01:3115,000 farmers and fishermen from Pilica, Marines Sur
01:35received P10,000 from the Office of the President.
01:39The President also ordered the DPWH to change the master plan
01:43of the Bicol River Basin Development Project
01:45so that the heavy flooding in the region will not happen again.
01:48The President also offered assistance to farmers and fishermen in Legazpi, Albay.
01:53On Thursday, the President signed Republic Act No. 12063
01:58or the Enterprise-Based Education and Training Framework Act.
02:02According to the President,
02:03the law is designed to address the challenges faced by the labor force in the country
02:06through the creation of a framework to avoid underemployment and job mismatch.
02:12Through the law, Filipino workers will be given sufficient training
02:16so that they will be able to meet the needs of the industries.
02:21The President and Singapore Prime Minister Lawrence Wong
02:24were able to reach an agreement
02:27because of the efforts made by Singapore
02:30to protect the country from the effects of Hurricane Christine.
02:33He also attended the 74th anniversary of the Philippine Marine Corps
02:37where he recognized the institution in its role
02:41in protecting the country's citizens.
02:44Along with the President's assurance that the government will continue its efforts

03:16The Philippine Maritime Zones Act will further clarify the maritime entitlements of the country
03:21as well as its provisions
03:23that are anchored in the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea or UNCLOS
03:27while the Philippine Archipelagic Sea Lanes Law
03:30will strengthen the maritime and aerial policies of the Philippines
03:34through the construction of routes for international vessels.
