00:23Reuni Aria of the Extraordinary Arab-Islamic Summit reaffirms its support for the action
00:27of the Al-Quds committee, chaired by His Majesty the King Mohammed VI.
00:31Details in a few moments.
00:35Arab and Muslim leaders today reaffirmed their support for the creation of a sovereign
00:40Palestinian state with the Eastern Al-Quds as its capital, which was expressed at the
00:45outcome of the Arab and Muslim Summit.
00:47Welcome ladies and gentlemen, without further ado, let's go to Riyadh with the Extraordinary
01:11Arab-Islamic Summit, which reaffirmed on Monday its support for the action of the Al-Quds
01:17committee, chaired by His Majesty the King Mohammed VI.
01:20The heads of state, Arab and Muslim, who take part in this extraordinary summit, reiterated
01:26their support for the action of the Al-Quds committee in the service of strengthening
01:30the resilience of the Maghreb.
01:32This support is expressed in the resolution adopted by the leaders of the Arab and Muslim
01:39countries at the outcome of the work of this summit held at the invitation of Saudi Arabia.
01:48Several Arab and Muslim countries, including Morocco, take part in the work of the Extraordinary
01:53Arab-Islamic Summit in Riyadh.
01:55His Majesty the King Mohammed VI is represented there by the head of state, Aziz Ar-Ranoush,
02:02who has underlined that the sovereign places the Palestinian cause at the forefront of
02:07the foreign policy of the Kingdom, and that security and stability will be fully established
02:13in the region, that peace is only possible if it is inscribed in the framework of the
02:19two-state solution, with Gaza as an integral part of the territories of the independent
02:24Palestinian state, with the Eastern Al-Quds as the capital.
02:28Here is an excerpt from the speech of the head of state of the Moroccan government.
02:39His Majesty the King places the Palestinian cause at the forefront of the foreign policy
02:44of the Kingdom of Morocco.
02:47The sovereign had given a large place to the Palestinian question in his speech on the
02:53occasion of the 25th anniversary of the throne celebration.
02:58His Majesty the King reaffirmed in his speech his commitment to continue to support constructive
03:04initiatives, aiming to find practical solutions for the conclusion of a concrete, sustainable
03:10ceasefire and to restore the humanitarian situation.
03:16His Majesty the King Mohammed VI said that the aggravation of the situation in the region
03:22is a challenge to get out of the logic of crisis management in favor of the search for a definitive
03:28solution to this conflict.
03:31And this following the following perspective.
03:34If achieving the cessation of hostilities in Gaza is an urgent priority, this must be
03:40done in parallel with the opening of a political horizon likely to establish a just and sustainable
03:46peace in the region.
03:49The use of negotiations to restart the peace process between the Palestinian and Israeli
03:57parties imposes to block the road to extremists from all sides.
04:03Security and stability will only be fully established in the region if this dynamic is
04:08inscribed in the framework of the two-state solution, in the terms of which Gaza is an
04:14integral part of the territories of the independent Palestinian state, with East Al-Quds as its
04:20capital.
04:24Let's stay in Riyadh. East Al-Quds, occupied by Israel, must be under the control of a
04:30Palestinian state above the summit of Arab and Muslim countries. Arab and Muslim leaders
04:36have reaffirmed today their call for the creation of a sovereign Palestinian state with East
04:42Al-Quds as its capital.
04:44They have also condemned the genocide committed by Israel in Gaza and called for the banning
04:50of arms transfers to Israel.
05:05And just to talk about it, we meet live in Rabat Zakaria Boudaab, Professor of International
05:12Relations and Political Sciences at the University of Rabat.
05:16Good evening to you.
05:19Good evening, thank you.
05:21So, Arab and Muslim leaders exclude all peace with Israel, without withdrawal from the territories
05:28rather occupied, and also denounce the genocide committed in Gaza and call on the international
05:34community to ban the export or transfer of weapons and ammunition to Israel.
05:40Can we therefore say that Arab and Muslim leaders have changed or even increased the
05:45time during this summit?
05:49It is practically the same time used a year ago, exactly on November 11, 2023.
05:55This time it was Riyadh, the Saudi capital, with the adoption of a long statement.
06:01Participation, of course, was the first joint summit, on the one hand, between the Arab League
06:07and the Organization of the Islamic Conference, which has more than fifty countries.
06:11There is therefore a significant digital weight.
06:14At the time, we were still at the beginning of the counter-offensive, let's say, Israeli.
06:20And at the same time, the damage was not yet to the same degree as today.
06:25That is to say, even after more than a year, we see that it is indescribable.
06:30Moreover, in the word given by the Secretary General of the Arab League, Abou El Raid,
06:36words are no longer enough to describe the reality on the ground.
06:41Time is running out.
06:42It must also be said, on the concrete level, what I noticed in particular,
06:46is this determined will to move forward.
06:49On the diplomatic level too, with a collective action to achieve this objective,
06:54which is the one of the proposal of the Arab solution, which was already adopted in 2002.
07:01So the full and effective recognition of a Palestinian state,
07:05with Al-Quds, Sharqiyah, that is, East Jerusalem as the capital.
07:10On the borders of June 1967, of course, which is not yet obvious, at least in the short and medium term.
07:17But moreover, Mr. Abou El Raid, I said earlier, the Secretary General,
07:22had even said that there will probably be a collective action to suspend Israel
07:27at the level of the United Nations General Assembly.
07:30Because the number also counts.
07:32And in addition to Islamic and Arab states, we could also count on other countries,
07:37especially in Asia, in Latin America, in the African continent.
07:41So we see very well today that we are in a new level, if not in another dimension.
07:47Because in the end, it is an indescribable and indescribable suffering
07:52that not only the Palestinians, but also the Lebanese are suffering from.
07:57Morocco is always faithful to its position.
08:00The head of the government, Aziz Hanouche,
08:02recalled that the sovereign places the Palestinian cause at the level of the constants
08:06of the foreign policy of the Kingdom,
08:08but that peace is only possible if it is inscribed in the framework of the two-state solution.
08:13What do you think the support of the participating countries means
08:16to the action of the Al-Quds Committee, presided over by His Majesty the King Mohammed VI?
08:22Well, it is a constancy practically in all resolutions,
08:25whether it is in the context of the Summit of 2023,
08:28whether it is the summit in progress since today in Jeddah,
08:32but also the other summits of the Arab League, etc.,
08:35since there are results on the ground.
08:37It is not only about vows, but on the ground,
08:41and moreover, it must be said in the words of Mr. Hanouche,
08:45who read the message of His Majesty,
08:48Morocco was one of the first countries to have
08:51provided food and sanitary aid by land.
08:54At the time, it was Egypt, let's say,
08:57who normally had to ensure this transit.
09:01And today, if there is support for the Moroccan approach,
09:04in particular the person of His Majesty the King as President of Al-Quds,
09:07it must be said that the Beit Man Al-Quds Sharif Agency
09:10is the secular arm of this committee.
09:14Consequently, if we look at the ground,
09:18the aid, once again, was provided by land,
09:21but also by air,
09:24and how precisely there is a Moroccan audience
09:27even among the Israeli state,
09:30because it is he who normally had to allow this transit.
09:33I must also say that on the ground,
09:36there is the Palestinian Red Crescent, which is also an intermediary,
09:39and there is a kind of reminder of this approach of His Majesty.
09:46And so the support did not wait.
09:49To go even further, the approach of Morocco
09:52has always been a serene, concrete approach,
09:55far from all clichés, hollow ideals, if you will.
09:58And as a result, it was up to His Majesty
10:01to once again be congratulated by his continuous action
10:04in favor of the Palestinian people in particular.
10:07A continuous action of His Majesty,
10:10King Mohammed VI, always in favor of the Palestinian people,
10:13Thank you again, Zakaria Aboudab.
10:16I remind you that you are a professor of international relations
10:19and political science at the University of Morocco.
10:22Thank you. Thank you. Goodbye.
10:25At the same time, Israel continues its offensives
10:28in the Gaza Strip and Lebanon, according to Palestinian sources.
10:31The Lebanese, these bombings have resulted in dozens of deaths,
10:34including many children.
10:37The Palestinian Civil Defense reported yesterday
10:40that it was a strike that targeted a house in Jabalia.
10:43Another Israeli strike hit a house in Gaza,
10:46killing five people.
10:49In Lebanon, on the northern border of Israel,
10:52the Israeli army bombed the south and east,
10:55where at least 12 people were killed in the region of Baalbek
10:58and also three others in the village of al-Hasr.
11:01At least 23 people, including 7 children,
11:04lost their lives in northern Beirut.
11:11The news also leads us to Yemen,
11:14with the Houthis claiming today an attack against Israel.
11:17According to the spokesman of the army,
11:20the Yemeni armed forces carried out an operation
11:23against the military base of Nahal Sarek
11:26in the south-east of Jaffa,
11:29which also triggered a fire
11:32near the targeted site.
11:36As we look at the economic days of Morocco and France,
11:39in the regions of Sakia, al-Hamra,
11:42and Dakhla, about 50 decision-makers
11:45and French business leaders
11:48are taking part in this major event.
11:51As part of the concretization of the French decision
11:54to recognize the Moroccan identity of the Sahara
11:57and the sovereignty of Morocco on its territory,
12:00the ambassador of France and the Kingdom to Morocco,
12:03Christophe Lecourtier,
12:06accompanied by a strong delegation,
12:09is also taking part in this meeting.
12:12This initiative follows a high-level official visit,
12:15during which the two countries renewed their commitment
12:18to strengthen economic cooperation
12:21in future strategic areas,
12:24especially in the southern provinces.
12:28On these economic days in Morocco and France,
12:31let's listen to Jean-Charles Damblin,
12:34Director General of the French Chamber of Commerce
12:37and Industry of Morocco.
12:40The importance, if you will, for the CFCM
12:43is always to support the Moroccan regions.
12:46There were recent statements,
12:49the idea came to do this roadshow
12:52in the southern regions.
12:56We will stay in Laayoune tomorrow
12:59for a presentation of the PDR,
13:02which will be made with about 50 decision-makers
13:05who are with us today.
13:08A presentation of the PDR of the region
13:11and in the afternoon a site visit,
13:14which is the UM6P of Laayoune.
13:17After that, we will take a flight to Arla.
13:20For us, it is important to be able to accompany the companies.
13:24I will not name the names,
13:27but the big companies that come here
13:30to see the different opportunities.
13:33It is important to accompany this movement to the south.
13:36The Chamber has been accompanying the movement to the south since 2017
13:39with the opening of its delegation in Laayoune
13:42and in 2019 on Dakhla.
13:45But it was still important to do a mission again,
13:48to show companies that we are present
13:52and that we will have strong opportunities.
13:55It reinforces it because our relationship is already economically anchored.
13:58We heard it during President Macron's visit,
14:01the figures that were given,
14:0414 billion euros in exchange between the two countries,
14:07also France, the first foreign direct investor in Morocco.
14:10It is not only reinforced on the Casablanca region,
14:13Tangier, Rabat, on the main axis,
14:16but the Chamber wants to help the regions,
14:20to accompany the regions in this reinforcement
14:23by bringing companies affiliated to the French group or French companies.
14:26We have here four companies from France
14:29who wanted to come and see what was going on in Laayoune,
14:32who had never come to Laayoune or even to Dakhla,
14:35where we are going tomorrow.
14:38It was important to show all of Morocco and all the regions that make it up.
14:41Let's focus on the Russian-Ukrainian conflict
14:44where aerial alerts were triggered on Monday
14:47in almost all of Ukraine and for good reason,
14:50the take-off of a large number of Russian bombers.
14:53The Ukrainian Air Force has also announced
14:56that eight Tu-95 strategic bombers are heading for Ukraine.
14:59As a reminder, the Tu-95s are long-range action bombers
15:02developed under the Soviet Union
15:05and which can contain cruise missiles
15:08while the MiG-31 is an interception and attack plane
15:11often used to accompany strategic bombers.
15:15On the first day of the COP-29,
15:18countries around the world have adopted new UN rules
15:21for the controversial carbon credit market.
15:24A key step to help countries
15:27meet their climate obligations.
15:30It is extremely important to react to Baku.
15:33Erica Lennon, an expert on the subject,
15:36at the Center for International Law,
15:39said that it is important
15:43to open the way to a more established carbon market
15:46with standards supported by nations.
15:49The United Nations, of course,
15:52but like several NGOs,
15:55the critics of the method are not transparent
15:58by which the texts were pushed
16:01to the UN Climate Conference.
16:04This time in Spain,
16:073.8 billion tons of carbon
16:11is the amount of new measures
16:14approved by the Council of Ministers
16:17for Victims of Martian Floods
16:20on October 29 in the southeast of the country.
16:23The announcement is from the head of the government, Pedro Sanchez.
16:26The Spanish government had already announced
16:29last week a first aid plan of 10.6 billion euros
16:32following this disaster that caused more than 220 deaths
16:35and dozens of missing people.
16:39And then politics leads us to Germany.
16:42The day after the break-up of its governmental coalition,
16:45the German Chancellor Olaf Scholz
16:48said he was ready, under condition,
16:51to submit this year to the votes of confidence of the deputies
16:54to accelerate the organization of anticipated legislative elections.
16:57Last Wednesday, he mentioned the date of January 15
17:00to ask the question of confidence
17:03with legislative elections at the end of March.
17:07After the vote of confidence, Scholz should speak.
17:10However, with a sufficient majority in parliament,
17:13President Frank-Walter Steinmeier
17:16will have 21 days to dissolve the Bundestag
17:19and new elections will have to take place
17:22in a period of 60 days.
17:27Returning to the Kingdom,
17:30following negotiations between the government
17:33and the Moroccan Ministry of Medicine,
17:36the Ministry of Higher Education
17:39is working on the operationalization
17:42of the rule found with the students
17:45of the Faculty of Medicine and Pharmacy.
17:48Minister Azedine El Midawi,
17:51who was speaking today in the House of Representatives,
17:54stated that his team is working
17:57to guarantee an optimal and rapid implementation
18:00of the rule found with the students of the Faculty of Medicine and Pharmacy.
18:04The leaders of Guinea and Morocco
18:07met in Conakry
18:10to strengthen trade between the two countries.
18:13It is an initiative of the Moroccan Agency
18:16for Development, Investment and Exportation.
18:19The strong time of this meeting
18:22with our correspondent in Conakry, Idrissa Sissé.
18:25Guinea and Morocco renewed their cooperation
18:28through this meeting in Conakry.
18:32On an economic level,
18:35the actors concerned of the two countries
18:38discussed, in particular,
18:41the re-dynamization of trade.
18:44We are making sure that wherever there is a need
18:47to make a connection between the private sector
18:50and other countries,
18:53we must also drain it for our country.
18:56We came here to present the Moroccan society
19:00to create trade partnerships
19:03that aim to find clients here in Guinea
19:06to export Moroccan products to the Guinean market
19:09and at the same time see the possibility
19:12of importing Guinean products to Morocco.
19:15The transactions between the two countries
19:18are still very weak.
19:21According to the Moroccan Exchange Office,
19:24the Kingdom exported about 1,378 million dirhams in 2023.
19:28This is a significant rate.
19:31But with these contacts,
19:34this trend has reversed according to the same source.
19:37Guinea is a vibrant country.
19:40A country that is moving.
19:43Many reforms have been undertaken recently.
19:46There is, of course, the new plan Simondou 2040
19:49which is bearing a lot of growth.
19:52It is an opportunity for Moroccan society
19:56to participate in this dynamic of growth and development.
20:00Morocco is a country that is very ahead
20:03in these issues compared to Guinea.
20:06So seeing them arrive here in Guinea
20:09and having this exchange is a great opportunity to seize.
20:15The meeting of Conakry aims to exceed
20:18the $140 million that Guinea and Morocco
20:21share annually in terms of trade.
20:24Meetings will therefore multiply
20:27to bring interests closer together.
20:30In Mali, in the face of the many obstacles
20:33faced by women in the media,
20:36the association La Femme en Moi has organized
20:39a three-day camp called Les Rencontres Colorées du Mali
20:42which is attended by about 20 female journalists,
20:45bloggers, animatrices and feminist activists.
20:48Our correspondent, Mamey Dagnoko, will tell us about it.
20:52This three-day camp, Les Rencontres Colorées du Mali,
20:55should allow better management
20:58and better media treatment of issues related
21:01to sexual violence, human rights violations
21:04and the impacts of climate change.
21:07These issues are often misunderstood
21:10and mistreated in the media.
21:13This is why we decided to make our modest contribution
21:16to the professionalization of the media sector
21:19by addressing these important issues in our society.
21:22Interactive sessions, discussions through
21:25group work, circle of speech and interventions
21:28have had a significant impact on the participants
21:31and their way of addressing these issues.
21:37Women have the same place as men in society,
21:40whether it is in all areas,
21:43and I leave this training being aware of these things.
21:47For the Minister of Promotion of Women,
21:50Children and Families, this initiative
21:53accompanies the efforts of her department
21:56in the fight against many human rights violations.
22:00It is imperative that all voices,
22:03especially those of women and girls,
22:06are heard everywhere.
22:09The women of the media you are,
22:12you have a crucial role to play
22:15in the development of our civilization
22:18and the enlightenment of these issues.
22:21Having fought against gender-based violence
22:24and human rights violations,
22:27Canada, through its ambassador,
22:30rejoices in this initiative.
22:33It is a priority of Canadian cooperation here in Mali,
22:36and this is what justifies my presence
22:39on your side tonight.
22:42Our objective was to promote
22:45female leadership in the media,
22:48including an experience-sharing session
22:51with women in charge of the media
22:54and communicators in major institutions in the country.
22:57And that's it for today.
23:03The news is brought to you by Media1 TV Africa.
