Qualcomm CEO Cristiano Amon presents the future of generative AI at Web Summit

Qualcomm CEO Cristiano Amon explains at Web Summit how generative artificial intelligence, Gen AI, will change our relationship with our phones and computers as they will be able 'to communicate with us in the same language.'

00:00That is the home of snapdragon. You probably see our technology
00:04In your phone, in wearable, biggest change in windows since
00:08Windows 95. You see it in the car, snapdragon.
00:13Our mission is to enable intelligent computing beginning
00:18Of this transaction. Let me keep going and show you
00:22A different example. It will become a personal computer.
00:26What created the smartphone revolution, an interesting
00:29Example of that, you can have a bill like we get a bill.
00:33Change in the user experience, especially with touch.
00:37The ability to touch a screen. You heard about ai, you heard
00:40About gen ai, you heard about chat gbt.
00:43I'm not going to tell you about that.
00:46However, ai is developing in a different way, not only in the
00:49Cloud, as you know, but also on the devices at the edge.
00:53It's transforming a lot of the experiences.
00:55It's not about one or the other. It's not about one better than
00:59The other, but they're actually developing in parallel.
01:03So gen ai is the new user interface because now the humans
01:11Can speak to the computer using human language.
01:15Or another way to say that. Computers now understand how to
01:20Communicate with us in the same language.
01:23If you look at the dynamic, the apps that we have today, and
01:27That's kind of the word that we live in, and you'll see apps in
01:31Your phone, in your pc, is really going to change to ai
01:34First type of experiences. That's going to happen in all
01:38The different devices when you think about the role of you now
01:43Interacting with the device with human language.
01:46So the way to think about computers right now and how you
01:50Think about those systems, including the future of your
01:53Phone, is you're going to have a lot of different inputs.
01:57Because now the computer can understand the word around it.
02:01And whether you talk, with voice, as audio, when you still
02:05Touch, you text, what you see, a photograph, sensors, including
02:10Your position, that goes to agents.
02:13And those ai agents, and they're going to be in all the
02:16Computing devices. I think what's happening...
