00:00The Lauag City Veterinary Office has confirmed that the city is now free of African Swine Fever or ASF.

00:07However, they will continue to strictly monitor the area to ensure that there will be no inspection or infection in their area.

00:23The Lauag City Veterinary Office has confirmed that the city has no African Swine Fever infection.

00:29This is after some hog raisers were alarmed at the next death of 14 pigs in Barangay Riweng.

00:39Based on the deceased's investigation, the pigs were killed in large numbers.

00:45Some affected pigs also had a fever and experienced an abortion before they died.

00:52Although these are common symptoms of ASF, they are negative in the blood testing that was done.

00:59Six hog raisers were affected in the barangay.

01:03We need to be careful and vigilant to them.

01:07Especially now that we are ASF-free so that we will not be infected by African Swine Fever.

01:13We need strict biosecurity measures

01:17such as putting foot baths in their prisons

01:21and if possible, putting nets around their prisons so that the pigs will not be exposed.

01:29The veterinary office will continue to strictly monitor the meat products that enter the city

01:35to ensure that there will be no ASF infection in the area.

01:40Currently, the Lauag City is in the yellow zone in ASF.

01:44This means that the risk of infection is low and pork products can be sold in the pink and red zones

01:50or in the cities that are affected by ASF.
