00:00The socio-economic model of independent winemakers for the sustainability of the Italian winemaking industry.
00:11This is the title of the survey presented in Rome and carried out by Nomisma Wine Monitor,
00:17the Nomisma Observatory dedicated to the wine market, in collaboration with FIVI,
00:21the Italian Federation of Independent Winemakers, with the aim of highlighting the developments
00:26of a socio-economic model linked to this type of enterprise.
00:30The externalities here represent a value not only for the Italian winemaking industry, but for the whole country.
00:37The label of the FIVI producer is that of the small winemaking enterprise,
00:42which manages more or less 10 hectares of vineyards and produces a little less than 40,000 bottles per year,
00:50which are few, but which express a social and environmental development,
00:55because more than 81% of the vineyards grown are located in the mountain-hilly area,
01:02against an average of 60% of Italian vineyards.
01:05What does this mean?
01:06It basically means that FIVI producers are located in disadvantaged areas,
01:13in the so-called internal areas, which today suffer from an increasingly growing depopulation.
01:18For us, as a country, this is a very complicated situation,
01:24because it means no longer having territorial presidium,
01:28hydrogeological protection in an extremely fragile country,
01:32as the latest floods and climate change have shown us.
01:36The results of the Nomisma survey show a business model
01:41focused on environmental, social and economic sustainability.
01:45A lever of development and economic integration used by FIVI producers, in fact, is that of Enoturismo.
01:51We also have an important role in defining the quality of production.
01:56Our attitude is always qualitative, so much so that we choose to produce in a biological way.
02:03This choice concerns more than half of our partners.
02:07We always aim for the qualitative peak of all denominations,
02:12so much so that our average sales price is more or less twice as high as the national average.
02:17This has an important role in the call for denominations in the designated territories,
02:24so much so that even in the Enoturismo department, our category plays an important role as a player.
02:3090% of our companies sell in wineries and attract customers and tourists,
02:36of which 40% are foreign tourists.
02:41The Lazio region also supports this type of business.
02:45We have recently approved the current regulations and important balance sheets
02:50in support of our law on Enoturismo.
02:53We are about to activate a portal on agricultural diversification,
02:57because we have discovered how the topic of Enoturismo can represent
03:02an extraordinary pillar of support for the winery companies of our territory.
03:07We are launching the promotion of our region, its excellence and its territory in extraordinary terms.
03:13Independent wineries and their federation are playing an extraordinarily important role in this process and in this activity.
