Sheffield United v Sheffield Wednesday: Chris Holt, Joe Crann and Danny Hall discuss as Sheffield United squeeze out narrow derby win
Transcript
00:00Joe, do you agree that the better team won?
00:02Yeah, yeah. I think, well, I think I said that after the game and I got absolute pelters.
00:09I sort of suggested that Wednesday were second best in too many areas.
00:12And I think the thing is, people think when you say someone's second best,
00:16that it means there's like a gulf.
00:18Yeah. Or they're rubbish.
00:19Yeah. Yeah.
00:20I just said there was a gap. There was a gap between the two teams.
00:23And I think that it showed the other day.
00:24And it wasn't just the quality for me.
00:26It was, I went and looked at the stats afterwards.
00:28And, you know, I made more successful tackles, won more duels.
00:33I think won double the aerial duels.
00:34Although that was probably all high and mighty.
00:37But I do think that it was one of those games where,
00:41ultimately, they had that little bit of something extra that Wednesday were lacking.
00:47Wednesday had a couple of, you know, nice moments of play.
00:50There was some nice link-up when Michael Smith came on.
00:53But they just never really did enough.
00:55There was the Masaba chance in the second half,
00:58which I think it was Sariki that blocked it.
00:59There was really, really good defending.
01:02But I think, look, if it had been a draw,
01:05I don't think either side would have gone,
01:08oh, that's unfair.
01:10But I do think United probably just about shaded it.
01:13And I do think it's those little bits of extra.
01:16Those little bits of extra quality.
01:17I think it was just that extra bit of quality.
01:20The players that Wednesday would normally look to for that little spark
01:26were probably the ones that they brought on in the second half.
01:29Like Kasamo, Masaba, Michael Smith.
01:32I think they changed it quite a bit, actually, when Smith came on.
01:35It was at least a bit of a battle for Soudra.
