00:00Let's change the game and find out the features of the Nano Crutch.
00:31The bike that is used as a mobility aid for our countrymen with leg disability.
00:37Leveled up, made more comfortable, sleeker, and more compact.
00:44Meet the Nano Crutch.
00:47Innovation of 40-year-old James Camacho.
00:51The project is close to James' heart as a polio survivor who has been using a bike since he was a child.
00:58My negative experiences when using mobility assistive devices.
01:02Maybe the gift from God to me as an artist,
01:05that's where I applied to create smart mobility assistive devices.
01:10The usual bike is not transport friendly.
01:14But what really pushed him was his experience of flying abroad.
01:19Regular crutches, usually this is what happens to me.
01:22When you ride a tricycle, FX, or Jeep,
01:25there are a lot of things like that.
01:27This was my first eureka moment when I traveled abroad.
01:31Because my legs were tied, and they were far from me.
01:36So it was really difficult.
01:37For a person with disability, you want to be able to stand and move quickly.
01:44That's why in 2016, James started designing the Nano Crutch.
01:49And with the help of the support of DOST TAPI, James was able to complete his prototype.
01:54Mga kapuso, hawak na natin ang prototype ng Nano Crutch.
01:58Gawa po siya sa aluminum at stainless steel.
02:03Talagang ang naging goal dito nila Sir James ay yung comfortability.
02:08At siyempre, being commute friendly.
02:10Meron lang siyang push pin. Ipupul niyo lang siya.
02:14Tapos maglalak na siya dito sa dulo.
02:16Itong feature sa taas ang pinaka-interesting para sa akin.
02:18Dahil nakikita niyo ang itsura niya. Anong itsura niya?
02:21Para siyang handle ng maleta.
02:23Meron siyang push button dito para may-adjust yung handle.
02:27Napakadala.
02:29Ito pong Nano Crutch ay kayang mag-handle ng up to 150 to 200 kilos.
02:37Last National Heroes Day, in partnership with media personality Angie Mead King,
02:43nabiayaan ang Nano Crutch ang 50 disabled AFP members.
02:49Target ni James na marilis ang Nano Crutch sa publiko by next year.
02:53It would bring back hope sa mga tao na may kapansangan na alam niyo,
02:57that hindi sila napag-iwanan in terms of innovation.
03:00Meron pa rin nag-i-innovate to somehow alleviate it and help them.
03:05There you have it mga kapuso.
03:06From his own personal experience na kagawa si James ng innovation,
03:10makakatulong at magagamit din ang iba pang may leg disability.
03:14Para sa GMA Integrated News, ako si Martin Aviar,
03:17Changing the Game!
03:23.
