00:00Well, Jugni is a very old Sufi folk song and I have heard it a lot in my childhood and
00:13I always wanted to have my own version of Jugni that I could perform and I could sing
00:17and I could, you know, give it to the people.
00:23So we were sitting with my team and we were just, I was just singing this and then we
00:29decided, okay, let's, let's try to create Tia's version of Jugni.
00:33So Jugni ji is only the hook line that I've kept, but the entire song originally is mine
00:39and basically the thought process is, when I wrote the song, I kept the society of today
00:46in mind because, you know, love has become a joke in a way in today's world.
00:50So I have written lines in it for this,
00:53Bazi ishq di kheli na, ishq nahi koi khel.
01:02Jugni should be a song that even a 65-year-old lady can enjoy and a 5-year-old kid can also
01:07enjoy.
01:08So keeping that in mind, we have tried to fill the gap between, the generation gap between
01:13the old and new and have also done Desi Slap House.
01:20This is what's going to be my signature sound.
01:24That's what we are working on.
01:25So that is the whole story behind Jugni.
01:33Well, like I said, the basic idea behind Jugni was to fill the gap between old and new.
01:40And kuch gaane aise hote hain na, jo thode kuch samay mein aapko unko refresh karna chahiye
01:46because yeh bahut precious gaane hote hain.
01:49So that was the thing and I wanted to have my own sound that people will recognize me
01:55from.
01:56That's why we put Desi Slap House.
02:04Well, I never see it as music versus acting.
02:06I always see it as a form of art, you know.
02:09It's never one or the other.
02:11It's both for me always.
02:12So when I'm singing, there's also creativity involved.
02:16There's also a lot of thinking, a lot of, you know, time goes behind creating a song
02:20and same thing happens with movies.
02:28No, no, Jugni strikes the right balance.
02:30We were very conscious about the video as well as the audio because you cannot have
02:37one without the other.
02:39It has to be a balance between both.
02:42The idea behind the music video also, if you see the music video, we have people from
02:47all age groups and the sound also is, the song Jugni ji is years old, you know, sound,
02:55but the rest of the melody and the music production is new.
03:00So that is the sound and the video we have balanced it.
03:06Well, see that does because, of course, independent artists cannot compete with labels.
03:17That's a fact because there's a lot of money involved.
03:19There's a lot of, you know, contacts and things involved.
03:23But I also feel that if your song is good, if your song is actually good and if, you
03:30know, it is loved by people, then there is no difference in a brand or an independent artist.
