00:00I don't know about pressure as much but I was very excited.
00:09Tamanna Sharma is a character that is very close to my heart and initially I've never
00:13done a season 2 or a sequel of a project before.
00:16So initially I was a little nervous in terms of okay I have to remember all the back story
00:21and the context and everything that we had created in season 1.
00:25But thanks to our creators Anand and Amrit, they really held our hand through everything
00:29and what I realised is that the day I kind of sat down for the first workshop, I realised
00:35that Tamanna will always be a part of me for the rest of my life because obviously it's
00:40a very special character and I was just very excited to get to play her again especially
00:46her arc in season 2 was very exciting for an actor.
00:51So yeah and just very grateful for all the love that she's getting in season 2.
01:00You know even I used to first think that you know how like to pick between genres so I
01:07like this over this but slowly through the prep of Bandish Bandit season 2 especially
01:12like Tamanna Sharma went to music school, Shreya also went to music school and I realised
01:16that I love music period you know there is a beauty to every genre be it pop music, be
01:23it western classical, be it Hindustani Shastriya music because in all genres there are 7 Suris.
01:32For example in Hindi Shastriya Sangeet we have Saregama, in western we have Do Re Fa So.
01:37So you know I feel it all stems from one foundation and then of course it's you know dependent
01:44on my mood that at this time I want to listen to this and at that time I want to listen to that.
01:48So I don't think I can ever pick.
01:54Yeah actually the entire IBC that you see in season 2 was shot over about 10-15 days
02:02and they were a night shift and that was quite tricky for all of us but hats off to the team
02:09actually our crew because that was a massive set and all the actors of season 2 were present
02:16then but they managed it somehow beautifully and I think if you even when you watch the
02:22show you realize that the way it's written only that no matter how tired all of us were or even
02:27if we were hungry the songs the atmosphere at that point was such that we used to actually
02:35feel that we are on a live you know concert and there used to be an audience that was so lovely
02:42like you know live interaction I could see people clapping and grooving to the music so I feel like
02:48you know we used to just come to life when we when we used to reach set and even the costumes and
02:53the lighting the way it's shot everything just contributed to that and there was a lot of hard
02:59work that was put in. We had a huge army of teachers behind us that were present on set and that
03:06was so beautiful because they used to stand behind the camera and we are taking shots at 2 in the night
03:11and they are standing there and just like checking lip-sync is fine, this is fine, this is fine and just
03:16seeing that excitement because of their love and passion for music I think ignited something
03:21in all of us so it was one of the most memorable times of season two.
03:30I would really dream of reworking with Imtiaz sir, Guneet ma'am, Anand sir. They have been amazing
03:40you know reasons for me to feel motivated and you know and taught me a lot. I've learned a
03:47lot from them just working with them so I really hope I get to collaborate with them again.
03:56What makes me think I'm the perfect fit? I think you will have to ask Anand sir. I just
04:03tried to give it my best. Sir was very kind, he really gave me a lot of time during the audition
04:10process. Before the workshop, before I was even locked, I had gone for an audition first with the
04:14casting directors which was casting day and then sir called me I think after two rounds and he
04:19really gave me like you know couple of hours, took me through the entire backstory of Zara,
04:25made her from a one-dimensional character to a three-dimensional character which was so nice
04:30for me to play with as an actor and that's what continued even in the workshop like he kept the
04:35only you know one of the main things that Baman sir kept telling me is that make her three-dimensional,
04:39make her three-dimensional and she's a very empowered character and she's like you know any
04:44like today's girl of India, she represents all of us and just her equation with say Avinash
04:51Tiwari's character, with Baman sir's character is so beautiful so I can't wait for people to watch it actually.
05:01Oh absolutely, I feel very grateful that very early on in my career I got to work with
05:06an Imtiaz sir or a Guneet ma'am or an Aseer sir or an Anand and an Amrit, now Baman sir,
05:13there are very few who are as lucky I feel to work with people not just who are stalwarts in their
05:19industry but who are also giving as human beings you know who are patient, who are there to answer
05:25any question that you have, who go above and beyond for example recently now having worked
05:30with Divya ma'am and Sheeba ma'am much more closer in season two, there were a lot of times when they
05:35would you know kind of just in conversation without you know making me feel small, they
05:41didn't have to do that, there was no difference in their scene but for me that was a little
05:46you know, they would see me feeling a little under confident so they would tell me something
05:51without directly you know saying that do it like this, just a little bit of feedback here and there
05:56and I feel I'm eternally grateful to all of them so working with them I think has been
06:02the best thing that could have happened to me.
06:09You know for me right now I don't like to concentrate on these kind of debates,
06:14I'm an actor and I'm seeking an audience, the medium doesn't matter, I've done I think all
06:19forms now, I've done short films, I've done an OTT, I'm hoping to do films, I've done
06:27advertisements, I've done theatre when I was in school in college, stage is what I mean so I feel
06:33for me right now I'm not thinking about what is the medium, this that, I just want to concentrate
06:38on my work and what my character is and what's the script so yeah.
