00:00Welcome to WatchMojo, and today we're counting down our picks for PS5 games coming in 2025
00:10that we're most excited to play.
00:12We aren't worrying about exclusivity, so as long as it will be playable on the PS5,
00:17it was considered.
00:18However, we are only including games that have official release windows of 2025.
00:22No leaked, rumored or speculated releases here.
00:31Number 10.
00:32Crimson Desert
00:37Originally planned as a prequel to Pearl Abyss' MMORPG Black Desert Online, Crimson Desert
00:42morphed into a single-player action-adventure title.
00:45And while the gaming landscape has no shortage of those, we can't deny how stunning this
00:49one looks.
00:50Players will control Cliff, a mercenary fighting to bring peace to the land of Paiwel, a fantastical
00:55medieval world.
00:56Whether that's through helping out the common folk or by contending with vicious monsters,
01:00it seems we'll have plenty to keep us occupied in this massive open world.
01:04Visually, the game looks incredibly impressive, but gameplay, which we've actually seen a
01:08lot of, also looks to bring the best elements of its genre.
01:19Number 9.
01:20Judas
01:21It's been too long since we had a Bioshock game.
01:32While a fourth entry is in development, we know almost nothing about it.
01:36Meanwhile, director Ken Levine's next release, Judas, looks very similar and is supposedly
01:41right around the corner in March.
01:42Aboard the Mayflower, a giant spaceship carrying the last of humanity, players will be torn
01:47between three leaders with their own plans for everyone's survival.
01:50Levine described the game as using narrative Legos, giving players the building blocks
01:54to craft their path, leading to multiple outcomes for different scenarios, and therefore, multiple
01:59endings.
02:00As should the promising-looking combat that gives us plenty of cool abilities to wield.
02:14Number 8.
02:15The Midnight Walk
02:23Coming as a surprise state-of-play announcement in September 2024, we haven't stopped thinking
02:27about The Midnight Walk since.
02:29Visually, it's unlike almost anything we've ever seen before.
02:32Handcrafted entirely with stop-motion claymation, it undeniably impresses, especially with its
02:37blend of dark fantasy and horror elements.
02:39Players will travel with their charming companion, Potboy, bringing light back to the darkness.
02:44Along the way, there will be all sorts of twisted creatures blocking their path and
02:47attempting to keep them in the shadows.
02:49The game looks to deliver a beautifully haunting, artistic experience.
02:53And we can't wait for the visual feast come Spring 2025.
03:04Number 7.
03:05Claire Obscure – Expedition 33
03:12With a few exceptions, RPGs have become increasingly more action-oriented in recent years.
03:17But with Expedition 33, developer Sandfall Interactive seeks to show that its turn-based
03:21routes can be just as epic and visually impressive as the more frequent blends that have populated
03:26the genre.
03:27It follows a group of adventurers going up against the Painteress, who has the ability
03:30to wipe out everyone of a certain age just by writing it in the sky.
03:34We're all for another turn-based adventure to suck up all of our time, a la Baldur's
03:38Gate 3.
03:39But we can't deny the allure of its stacked cast, including Charlie Cox, Andy Serkis,
03:43Jennifer English and Ben Starr.
03:56Number 6.
03:57Marvel 1943 – Rise Of Hydra
04:05Set during World War II in Nazi-occupied Paris, Marvel 1943 will follow Captain America
04:09and Azuri, Black Panther and Grandfather to the more well-known T'Challa, as they try
04:14to stop the rise of Hydra.
04:15Although it's a somewhat familiar setup, it has plenty of new elements to get us excited.
04:19Seeing the heroic duo team up for this new spin should please comic fans, and they'll
04:23have their own playable companions to keep gameplay varied.
04:26What we've seen so far looks to make wonderful use of Unreal Engine 5 as well.
04:30Crucially, we're excited to finally get another blockbuster narrative-driven adventure
04:34by Amy Hennig, the creator of Uncharted.
04:37Needless to say, we're ecstatic for this next step in superhero gaming.
04:45Number 5.
04:46Doom – The Dark Ages
04:53Some might argue that Doom doesn't need much lore, since the incredible gunplay and
04:56vicious gore are great selling points in their own right.
04:59But us?
05:00Well, we're just happy to get more no matter what.
05:02The Dark Ages will be a prequel to the 2016 revival, following the Slayer as he battles
05:06demonic hordes.
05:08Only this time, it's during the medieval times.
05:10Thankfully, that won't stop us from wielding the franchise's signature over-the-top weapons.
05:14We've already seen a shield-buzzsaw combo and a gun that grinds skulls into bullets
05:18you can spray at groups.
05:19The quick-paced combat looks to be well-intact, and we'll even get to ride on the back of
05:23a dragon.
05:26Sick.
05:29Number 4.
05:30Death Stranding 2 – On The Beach
05:37The first Death Stranding is one of the most unique games we've ever played.
05:40And that says a lot considering it came from the mind of Hideo Kojima, creator of the Metal
05:44Gear series.
05:45Since it fascinated just about everyone who played it, even if they didn't like it,
05:48we have no doubt the sequel will do the same.
05:51Not much is known about the plot as of writing, though Kojima has stated the impact of COVID-19
05:55inspired him.
05:56The first game focused on a divided humanity, so the worldwide pandemic understandably offered
06:01a lot of material to pull from.
06:02We're looking forward to how Kojima handles that within his strange world, but also the
06:07new explorable regions and combat mechanics.
06:18Number 3.
06:19Monster Hunter Wilds
06:24It seems with each new release, Monster Hunter has grown bigger and better, much to our delight.
06:28The upcoming Wilds will retain what makes the franchise so great, letting players hunt
06:32and battle against ferocious creatures, whether by themselves or with a group of friends.
06:37But there are a few tweaks to this formula that we're excited to see.
06:40One will be our mount, able to carry us into battle or help traverse the terrain.
06:44Another will be the focus feature, making it easier to target specific body parts of
06:48our prey.
06:49One of the most noteworthy additions is more dynamic monster behavior.
06:52Some may travel in herds, while others will be affected by time of day and weather.
07:01Number 2.
07:02Ghost of Yotai
07:03Sucker Punch's Ghost of Tsushima was a phenomenal action-adventure game in a sea of many others
07:07like it.
07:16The historical detail, the strong combat, and the unique take on open world progression
07:20had us all thrilled to see what the studio would do next.
07:23While many were expecting a straightforward sequel, Ghost of Yotai is set over 300 years
07:28later.
07:29It will follow a new ghost, a warrior named Atsu, as she goes on her own tale of vengeance
07:33in Hokkaido.
07:34The team has stated players will have more control of Atsu's story and decisions than
07:37they did with Jyn's, but that's essentially all we know so far.
07:40Still, with such an excellent foundation, we can't help but get our hopes up.
07:51Before we get to our top pick, here are a few honorable mentions.
07:55Eternal Strands
07:56A colorful action-RPG and the first game from indie studio Yellow Brick Games.
08:09Assassin's Creed Shadows
08:11Ubisoft needs a win, and this looks like it could be one.
08:20Like a dragon, pirate Yakuza in Hawaii, taking the exciting franchise in even more unique
08:25directions.

08:48Grand Theft Auto 6
08:53No matter the platform, you'd be hard-pressed to find a game coming in 2025 with more player
08:58anticipation behind it than Grand Theft Auto 6.
09:01The fifth game was released all the way back in 2013 and is considered one of the greatest
09:05games of all time.
09:07Despite GTA Online's frequent updates and support, we've all been foaming at the mouth
09:11for a new installment.
09:12The game will take us back to one of the franchise's most famous locations, Vice City, within the
09:16Florida-inspired Leonida.
09:18Amidst all the chaos and parodied American culture shown in the trailer, we'll control
09:21a criminal duo like a modern-day Bonnie and Clyde.
09:24This is a series that consistently delivers and entertains, and there's no way this isn't
09:28the biggest game of 2025.
