00:08Leeds City Council secured planning permission to build 82 high-quality and energy-efficient
00:14homes which are due to be built on this former school site at Huff Top near Pudsey.
00:19The scheme is being delivered via the Council Housing Growth Programme and will include
00:2355 houses and 27 apartments, with a mix of one, two, three and four bedrooms.
00:29They're set to be suitable for adaptation and fitted with air-source heat pumps, a heating
00:34solution that is said to be sustainable and will help cut carbon emissions and tackle
00:38fuel poverty.
00:40The properties will all be made available for affordable rent, giving a helping hand
00:44to families in a part of Leeds that has significant housing needs.
00:48More than 500 hours of career support are set to be provided for young people during
00:52the scheme's construction phase, with one local school leaver having already secured
00:57a full-time apprenticeship with Wilmot Dixon.
