00:00Mary Jane Veloso can finally come home, even though under lesser favorable circumstances,
00:05a declaration the president made with pride and glee.
00:09The president added it took over 10 years of diplomatic talks and consultation with
00:13the Indonesian authorities that ultimately extended her execution dates until a deal
00:18was struck to let her back home.
00:21It was the president's talks with newly minted Indonesian leader Prabowo Subianto when he
00:26came calling on the president in September that factored in greatly in granting leniency
00:31to Mary Jane Veloso.
00:33Likewise, the president noted Mary Jane's odyssey to eke out a living abroad that led
00:38to this nightmarish ordeal.
00:40Her innocence and dream to provide for her family is a plight shared by thousands of
00:44hardworking Filipinos and exploited by abusive and unscrupulous human traffickers.
00:50Lastly, the president expressed heartfelt thanks to President Prabowo Subianto for his
00:55compassion in making this happen to signify even better bilateral and diplomatic relations
