00:00In the face of climate change, an important project will be started by the government.

00:05This is the construction of the largest and first solar plant and battery storage facility in the world.

00:12According to President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., this is an important thing

01:09The project will be divided into two phases.

01:11In February 2026, the 2,400 megawatt solar farm will be opened

01:15and an additional 1,000 megawatts in February 2027.

01:19This landmark project will put our country on the map

01:23as a leader in renewable energy.

01:26Once completed, it can generate 3,500 megawatts from its 5 billion panels.

01:32Terra Solar project will help stabilize our power supply,

01:36reduce energy costs and contribute significantly

01:40to our target of 35% renewable energy share

01:44in the power generation mix by the year 2030.

01:48According to the President and CEO of EMGEN, Manuel Rubio,

01:51since the power generation cost will be reduced,

01:53it is also possible for Meralco to lower its cost to its customers.

01:56When it is operated, consumers will feel it.

02:00The full delivery of its capacity is expected to be in February 2027.

02:06But in first phase, it will be delivered in March 2026.

02:10It can also provide 10,000 jobs to Filipinos

02:14while reducing 4.3 million tons of carbon emissions per year.

02:19We are working towards a steady and reliable power supply

02:23that will meet the demands of today

02:25and continuously fuel our ambitions for tomorrow.
