00:00So, all right, let's cut to the chase.
00:02Your mailbag in chicagotribune.com has a headline, how many wins does Matt Iberfluss need to
00:06save his job?
00:08What's your best guess?
00:09Well, I think, first of all, the way I answer that question is I think it's a lot more nuanced
00:17than just putting a number on it, right?
00:19I don't think anyone that's making decisions like this with really any team in any season
00:30has a hard and fast number in mind, right?
00:33What you're looking at is what direction is the program headed in?
00:37Are we meeting expectations?
00:40Are we getting better?
00:41What's the trajectory of the organization at the end of the season?
00:46What was the, you know, how were things trending in the second half of the season?
00:53And all of that's very subjective, much more so than just throwing a number on it.
01:00But I think it was realistic to expect or hope, probably hope, that this team could
01:06be better than the one a year ago.
01:09And that being said, the schedule is a lot more difficult than it was last season.
01:16And he's facing an uphill climb to get to, you know, above 500.
01:21Like, I don't know that going from 7 to 10 to 8 and 9 does it.
01:26But if they play really good the next seven weeks to get to 8 and 9, maybe there's a
01:34discussion.
01:34But there's a lot that adds up against him right now.
01:37Coaching staff turnover, the failure of the team to close out games in the fourth quarter.
01:46You know, that stuff's going to weigh heavy unless they start playing really good football.
