Four opposition-led states have received higher royalties compared to the period under the previous government, according to Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.
Speaking at a town hall session celebrating the Madani Government's second anniversary on Saturday (Nov 23), Anwar highlighted that Kelantan, Terengganu, Kedah, and Perlis have obtained larger amounts of royalties under the Madani government.
Anwar, who is also the Finance Minister, urged all state leaders, including the menteri besar from opposition-led states, to set aside political differences and foster cooperation between federal and state governments for the welfare of the people.

00:00The foundations of a country are the foundations of a society.
00:04And we discuss with the country in several meetings.
00:08The foundations of land, the foundations of digital, the foundations of investment,
00:12the foundations of physical development.
00:15That is a discussion with the country.
00:17And it is very frequent.
00:19If I look at the schedule of the COCASN,
00:21our meetings with the country,
00:24wherever it is, is the most frequent.
00:26And as mentioned by Mr. Wadillah just now,
00:30our discussions are even more than that.
00:32We go to the country,
00:33to give a general view,
00:35we ask for the view of the country's response.
00:38And we adjust the foundations according to the needs of the country.
00:42So by that,
00:44I don't think we have too many problems.
00:48Only a new suggestion that COCASN raised,
00:50and all state-owned enterprises have,
00:53which is to strengthen the common commitment
01:00to implement the reform program of the National Assembly,
01:05is also accepted by the country.
01:07And this is for the common good.
01:10Of course, there are some countries
01:12whose main wife is a bit different.
01:15I don't think that's a problem.
01:17But if I, in my discussions with all the big companies,
01:20including the big companies,
01:22I said that in terms of government affairs,
01:26we should do what is necessary.
01:31And we should put aside the different political parties.
01:37So, I don't see any contradiction in this matter.
01:45Of course, sometimes it is mentioned about
01:48issues that need to be raised,
01:51but I don't think it's about royalty.
01:54But I give an estimate.
01:56For Perlis, for Kedah, for Kelantan, for Terengganu,
02:00it is much higher than the previous years.
02:04And if we sum it up,
02:06it is higher than the number of royalties we took.
02:09But the fact is sometimes it doesn't reach the bottom.
02:13Because this is a matter of politics.
02:15But if it's a matter of poverty, education, health, basic facilities,
02:20damage to the environment,
02:22like in Terengganu,
02:24about the collapse of the Kenyir River,
02:30we should do it immediately.
02:32There is no other consideration.
02:33If there is a need for more than 200 million,
02:35we should do it immediately.
02:38For me, this is important.
02:40And we ask that both the government and the state
02:44and as a minister,
02:47when we go to the state,
02:49most of them talk to the big powers,
02:53including the experts.
02:56For me, this is a matter of our work.
02:59The issue of cooperation and cooperation is quite clear.
03:04So if the state takes a positive attitude,
03:08it makes it easier.
03:10If it takes a negative attitude,
03:12it makes it difficult.
