The government will fulfil each state's rights guided by the principles of the Federal Constitution, says Fahmi Fadzil.

Speaking to the media at his office on Wednesday (June 12), Fahmi said this also applied to Johor's recent request for 30% of the tax revenue it contributes to national coffers to be returned to the state.

Fahmi, who is the government spokesman, said Malaysia was founded in the spirit of federalism with the consent of all states, adding that discussions of matters concerning Sabah and Sarawak are guided by the provisions of the Federal Constitution and the Malaysia Agreement 1963.
