00:21was not violent is a lie, a lie pure and simple. Both Republicans and Democrats are condemning
00:29Fox News host Tucker Carlson for his depiction of the January 6th attack on the Capitol,
00:34which he called peaceful chaos during a recent show. I think it's bulls**t. My
00:38recollection of the day is that it was not just some rowdy peaceful protest of Boy Scouts. There
00:45were a lot of people in the Capitol at the time who I think were scared for their lives. It was
00:52an attack on the Capitol. Carlson's new assessment comes after speaker Kevin McCarthy gave Fox News
00:58over 40,000 hours of exclusive internal security footage from the day of the attack. Carlson then
01:04used select moments of that footage to further spread conspiracy theories about the day and
01:09depict it as a peaceful protest. It was a mistake in my view for Fox News to depict this in a way
01:19that's completely at variance with what our chief law enforcement official here at the Capitol thinks.
