00:00Lower House lawmakers expressed solidarity with the chief executive amid a threat posed against the first couple by the vice president.

00:08To manifest their support, the lower house issued a house resolution that conveys their full support not only to the leader of the land but to this house speaker as well.

00:19During today's house plenary session, lawmakers have adopted House Resolution No. 2092 expressing the unwavering and unqualified support and solidarity of the House of Representatives to the leadership of President Ferdinand R. Marquez Jr. and Speaker Martin Umaldes in the face of serious and dangerous remarks and defiant acts, specifically the tyrants and threats against them by Vice President Sara Duterte.

00:46Some house leaders also condemned this. According to Speaker Umaldes, the vice president's threat was dangerous and serious so it definitely should not be ignored.

00:55This is no longer a joke. This is no longer a normal speech. This is a direct threat to our democracy, our security, and the security of the country.

01:08Such statement is not just reckless, it is dangerous. It sends a chilling message to our people. A message that violence can be contemplated by those in positions of power. This is not just an affront to the individuals targeted, it is attack on the very foundation of our government.

01:28Apart from this, Speaker Umaldes also denied Duterte's accusation that he's allegedly plotting to destroy her because of alleged political ambitions of the House Speaker for the 2028 elections. Instead of spewing unfounded and baseless accusations, Umaldes challenged the vice president to address the issue of her alleged anomalous use of confidential funds.

01:50The issues surrounding confidential and intelligence funds, the questionable disbursements, and the lack of transparency demand answers. We will not tolerate and accept vague explanations and evasive responses. If you have nothing to hide, why don't you answer the questions? It is the right of the people to know the truth.

02:15As a final note, Speaker Umaldes led the House of Representatives in declaring full support for President Marcos Jr. and affirmed their commitment to continue fighting for the truth.
