00:00Hello, good evening. It's been a rather blustery day across the country with some persistent
00:04outbreaks of rain across north-western parts of Scotland with the remnants of storm Burt.
00:09This though eventually clearing away to Scandinavia leaving behind plenty of blustery showers
00:15behind. These heavy at times, falling mainly as rain though we still might see some sleet
00:19and snow across parts of Scotland. Plenty of blustery showers moving in through the
00:23west across the rest of the country. These also could be persistent at times across southern
00:27coasts but in inland areas across the Midlands, parts of the east and south-east, plenty of
00:33clear skies. So a chilly night here could see some frost by the time we reach the morning,
00:37perhaps even some fog patches at times too. So as we head through into Tuesday, it should
00:43generally be a much brighter day for many of us. Plenty of sunny spells but we still
00:47can't rule out the risk of a shower. These mainly around western coasts, so around Scotland,
00:52Northern Ireland, north-west England at times and perhaps in the afternoon we could see
00:56some heavy showers across southern coasts. But as I say, plenty of dry weather around,
01:00plenty of sunny spells and much lighter winds even though temperatures fairly similar to
01:04what they are this afternoon, it should feel more pleasant where we catch the sunshine.
01:09Still fairly blustery across the far north-east of Scotland too and still those showers continuing
01:14here. Now through into Tuesday night, that's where we begin to start to see a bit of a
01:18change. Cloud and outbreaks of rain pushing their way up from the south-west, this turning
01:23persistent and heavy at times too. To the north of this though, much clearer skies,
01:28so turning cold, frosty, may even see some icy patches by the time we reach Wednesday
01:32morning as well. So a good north-south split in the weather by the time we reach Wednesday
01:37morning. Temperatures not turning quite as chilly under the cloud and rain. So the outbreaks
01:43of rain likely to slowly sweeten their way eastwards through the course of the day but
01:47across the far south and south-east it could linger for a time through much of Wednesday.
01:52To the north of this, much clearer skies, plenty of sunny spells, though it is going
01:56to be feeling chilly and across much of the south once that rain clears, leaving behind
02:01plenty of cloud too. So most of the sunshine to the north of the country, chillier here
02:06though, milder in the south but leaving behind much cloudier skies. Now as we head through
02:13into the rest of the week, there is a chance we could see some frost still possible by
02:19the time we reach Thursday morning, perhaps some icy stretches too. And with clearer skies
02:23we're likely to see some mist and fog patches here as well, perhaps even freezing fog where
02:27we see those frosty conditions. And largely dry for the rest of the week, though we are
02:32starting to see some frontal systems push their way in from the west, so some wet and
02:35windy weather on the cards in western areas. But for more updates on the week ahead, you
02:40can catch Alex later, otherwise that's it from me. Bye bye.
