00:00Hello there, welcome to your Tuesday evening weather update from the Met Office.
00:04High pressure still casting an influence over our weather, hence the reason why through this evening and overnight there will be some fog around,
00:11particularly for Northern Ireland but even across Southern Scotland down towards Northern England, the Midlands and Wales, some patches of fog here.
00:18At the same time, a few showers just pushing in across the far south east of England, a keen breeze and also a breeze towards the north west of Scotland
00:27where the cloud will thicken overnight and you will see some patchy rain and drizzle.
00:31Elsewhere, some clearer skies and under clearer skies and a light breeze.
00:36There's not a lot of mixing so temperatures will fall quite quickly and we're likely to see yet again some pockets of frost form.
00:43So it's a cold start to the day come Wednesday morning, for some foggy as well, so some murky conditions
00:50and that breeze continues towards the far south east keeping temperatures slightly higher here as well as the far north of Scotland.
00:57So first thing then tomorrow morning as you're stepping out, it'll be a bit damp across the north west highlands down towards the western isles
01:04and that rain could just encroach across the far north of Northern Ireland.
01:07Inland across Northern Ireland, watch out for that low cloud and also those fog patches.
01:12Fog will lift elsewhere very slowly, there could be some stubborn patches even into the afternoon where the winds are light
01:19but certainly some brighter skies coming through as you head through into the afternoon.
01:23So not too bad if you are out and about, you may have to just layer up a little bit.
01:27Temperatures will be around average for this time of year after a cold start
01:32and always a breeze towards the north where temperatures will hold around 12 degrees Celsius.
01:38So through Wednesday evening and overnight, high pressure remains an influence with our weather centred towards the west of the UK.
01:46So more of a breeze towards the east there but still we'll see lots of low clouds and patchy rain and drizzle just coming and going
01:54and yes that cloud will continue into Thursday morning and in fact that cloud will be thick enough to produce a more persistent rain and drizzle
02:01with an onshore breeze across western Scotland again down towards exposure in Northern Ireland.
02:07Elsewhere some breaks in the cloud through the afternoon, eastern counties of England, south east Scotland.
02:13Here's your bigger picture through Friday and into Saturday.
02:17Low pressure sort of lingers towards the north as high pressure fades away
02:22and this will introduce a cold front dragging colder air right down across the country.
02:27So eventually the air will turn colder with that some stronger winds towards the north
02:31and some showers which could turn wintry. I'll see you later.
