JP and BMitch know that Kilff Kingsbury needs to find a way to get Terry McLaurin involved earlier and more often in games.

00:00But B one thing we, I do think needs discussion and for a while it was easy to be dismissive
00:06of this cause everything worked. But one of the knocks on cliff going into the season
00:11is that he doesn't move his receivers around. Um, McLaurin has run the vast majority of
00:17his work on the left side of the offense when he has been on the, on the far right side
00:24or even in the slot. Um, it's only 27, 27 routes he's run out of, I mean the amount
00:32of routes he's run is probably 400. I would imagine. Um, on those, on those plays, it's,
00:41I mean, we know numerically it's not that it doesn't happen that often. And when it
00:46does happen, it tends to succeed on the 27 routes run from the right side of the slot.
00:51He's caught seven of eight targets for a buck 70 and two touchdowns. And I think the
00:56deep shot yesterday, he was on the right side. Cause that wasn't a crosser. Right? Like he
01:00was upside line. Boom. Hit him. Um, that looked like a, like a deep post or something almost
01:06cause he was coming in and then he broke it back out to get down the field. I, um, I it's
01:14tough cause you don't want to be too reactionary each week to stuff. But now you've got three
01:18weeks in a row. Um, if, if Terry doesn't have the 86 yard or yesterday, he finishes
01:23yesterday with like 15 yards, 16. Yeah. So there are, there are some glitches in this
01:30thing.
01:31Yeah. But if they, I mean they have to do just like, uh, if you see that he's successful
01:37when he, when you do things like that, you got to implement it, find a way. And I understand
01:43the coaches that say we run our office, we hit the wire receive. I understand that when
01:47a guy has shown you consistently, he's that dude, you find a way to go to him more often.
01:54No, I mean, cause city lamb is the receiver they have and they're going to find a way
01:59to get him 10, 15 targets game.
02:04I think Jason Garrett, who I don't think was a very good head coach, but I think Jason
02:09Garrett has a good fundamental understanding of offense said they've got to get McLaurin
02:13involved earlier because it creates, even if it's the illusion of some sort of deep
02:18shot availability. Yeah.
02:21And what it does is when you get, when you get the top receiver in involved, just like
02:25anybody else, the other team thinks just like the fans, if we're thinking he needs the ball,
02:32the other team thing, he, and he, then he starts getting it. And then they're going
02:36to start thinking we got to stop him. So they start deploying more than one guy over there,
02:41which leaves other people wide open. And that makes it easier for those guys that are
02:45not number one or two receivers. It gives them a chance to get open.
