00:05For the first time ever, the French Film Festival
00:09is hosting cross-cultural perspective films from France and the Philippines.
00:15Films from the new generation of French and Filipino women directors are included.
00:21France is a well-known advocate for gender equality in international forums
00:27and this time, they wanted to include gender issues that often happen in the media and film fields.
00:35With the help of the Embassy of France, the Philippines and Private Mall and Cinema,
00:40the 27th French Film Festival hosted 14 French feature films
00:47that showcased French culture and diversity.
00:52I think in the whole world, the direction and production of films is a male-dominated field
00:59and this film festival is meant to show that women can do the same thing.
01:07The French director, Nelmy Lafour, is also present at the event.
01:12Her film, My Heroine, is part of the movie line-up this year
01:16about her own story as a young woman who dreams of directing a film in Hollywood.

01:53Meanwhile, as part of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women,
01:58there will be a screening of the movie Angry Annies at the UP Film Institute
