Delhi: Ajay Jadeja, Former Indian Cricketer when asked about the challenges India can counter in playing pink-ball Tests for the first time after March said that “I think our team and their preparation has always been good and I'm sure they will fulfil all the challenges.” On Josh Hazlewood being ruled out of upcoming Adelaide Test, Jadeja said that “In spite of that (Hazlewood taking five wickets), we won (in Perth). So he's not there it only makes it easier for you I presume, unless you find another new star, because with sport that's another thing that you'll always realise - that until the person arrives on the field on that particular day is an unknown.” On selection headache for Indian top-order in Adelaide he said that “It's a headache for captain and the coach at least. At least, the captain walks in, so it's his headache on who he leaves out, which is a good headache to have. On Afghanistan players like Noor, Ghazanfar, Omarzai and Gurbaz earning hefty IPL deals via mega auction he said that “I'm blessed and privileged to have had (spent) time with them. They're an amazing bunch of players and I think market forces (played a part) there, because in an auction it's very clear it's market forces. So people who run the sport in India are valuing players from that part of the world and that was seen at the (mega) auction.”

00:00I think they're very important and as you see it's been on for 14 years, this is the 14th edition.
00:05It is important in the way that sport of course keeps running but it was an unorganized sector the way I see it.
00:12It is being made into an organized sector and unless something's organized it's very difficult to scale something.
00:17So one of the most important things that this does to sport is in all sports, not just one sport,
00:22is that the scale of that sport will get, can be made bigger whether it's by the corporates that have come in,
00:28whether it's by the government or it's by all of you in the media.
00:32So it is an event, it's like a Kumbh Mela that you have.
00:36It's not just that particular day that it happens but it happens over a period of time.
00:41There's discussion, there's a thought, there's exchange of ideas, there is agreements, disagreements
00:46and suddenly you have a spark and it could ignite a whole new revolution.
00:52And that's the endeavor I think over the years.
00:55And as our Prime Minister has made sport a priority and I'm blessed to be a sportsman in this country at this time.
01:02And I think it's a wonderful event and I hope, I mean I wish all the success to this event and everyone who joins it.
01:10You know the challenge, like with life everything's changing.
01:13I mean here we are at 10.30 in the morning bright and awake and that's what this sport used to be.
01:18That it was a sport where you woke up in the morning.
01:20Now suddenly your peak time has to be at 11.30 at night.
01:23So that's the challenge that some of them might have apart from the other challenges.
01:28But I think our team and our preparation has always been good and I'm sure they will fulfill all the challenges.
01:37It's a headache for the captain and the coach.
01:39At least the captain walks in so it's his headache who he leaves out.
01:43Which is a good headache to have.
01:44I mean rather than looking for people who's going to win me games.
01:46Now you're going to leave out somebody who's won you a game.
01:49So it's a good headache to have if you have one.
01:51In spite of that we won.
01:53So if he's not there it only makes it easier for you.
01:56I presume unless you find another new star because with sport that's another thing that you'll always realize.
02:02That until the person arrives on the field on that particular day he's an unknown.
02:07But sometimes geniuses also have to start someday.
02:11So I hope they don't find another genius otherwise it's a good sign.
02:15I'm blessed and I'm privileged to have had time with them.
02:19They're an amazing bunch of players.
02:20And I think market force is there because in an auction it's very clear it's market force.
02:26So people who run the sport in India are valuing players from that part of the world.
02:31And that was seen at the auction.
02:33I don't think a level of a player depends on what kind of price he's been bought at.
02:40Because auction has many dynamics.
02:42When you come in, what stage you come in, what teams have in their pocket.
02:46But it's a nice happy feeling to know that the teams or the bodies that are running cricket,
02:54those 10 corporate teams that run cricket in India are valuing these players.
03:00And it shows that that's the future for all the other kids from that part of the world.
03:06So these are leaders from Afghanistan.
03:08And if they are being valued, I don't mean in auction terms only,
03:13but even as acceptance into a site, they are looked at as match winners.
03:17Imagine the kids back home, the inspiration that they've had.
03:20I think they're very important.
03:22And as you see, it's been on for 14 years.
03:24This is the 14th edition.
03:25It is important in the way that sport of course keeps running.
