00:55Ahmad Zahid emphasised that more than 82,000 security personnel have been mobilised to
01:01assist victims, and relief centres nationwide can accommodate up to 2.1 million people.
01:09He also stressed the importance of early evacuation, especially for those in low-lying areas, to
01:15prevent loss of life.
01:17Volunteer organisations and individuals were encouraged to prepare for post-disaster assistance
01:22to help ease victims' burdens once the floods subside.
01:26Zahid also called on all parties to set aside political differences and work together to
01:32support flood victims during this national crisis.
01:36The situation in the peninsula has worsened, with the number of evacuees rising to over
01:42152,000 on Sunday morning, up from nearly 147,000 the previous night.
01:50In Pahang, floods have now hit Raub District where 15 relief centres have opened, sheltering
01:55452 victims from 146 families.
