00:00Cowboys owner and general manager, Jerry Jones, joining us here on one of five to the fan.
00:19Okay, Jerry, so you reference the you are what your record says you are given that you
00:23guys were once three and seven in a pretty deep hole. Is there a way you feel like you
00:28guys can finish the season strong and still potentially not make the postseason but you
00:33would view it as a success?
00:35Well, I don't know that I would go as far as saying this season is a success. But what
00:44you can do is make successful and this is cricket. This is fair game. You can make from
00:52where we are, or let's go ahead and roll it back a couple of games where we were there.
00:58And look and see how you've improved. And there's no question is that you can carry
01:04over good play from one season to the next. And potentially we even did that. We carried
01:13over not so good play against Green Bay that we had in our last game playoffs last year.
01:20So I think it's naive to think that you don't have carryover. Is that going to be positive?
01:28Is that going to be negative? Are you going to see things for each individual player that
01:34they can say, look, I can build off of that. I can improve. You hear that term all the
01:38time, build off of it. Well, that's why it's the game that it is. You do build off of.
01:46You build off of good health. You build off of good execution. You think that overshadowed
01:52and reduce, just look at him an exceptional talent, but he's building, he's getting better.
01:59Another example is that Tom Landry, the great Tom Landry. I didn't hear this, but I've been
02:06told about it so many times. Don't ever give up on a defensive lineman, maybe even down
02:13lineman, the big guys until you've seen them for three years, because they can really evolve
02:19and be a different player after three years than they were the earlier three years. So
02:24all of that bodes well for playing well in these last few ballgames.
