Shan asked Jerry Jones about the Cowboys fans. Jerry Jones gives an irritated response.
Transcript
00:00Jerry, are you worried about fan apathy setting in?
00:05Well, I'm not worried about fan apathy. If you saw the letters and things I'm getting,
00:09that's the last thing from apathy. You're seeing very, very keen, intense,
00:17passion about what we're not doing and concern about what we're doing.
00:22And that's the reason that I love this thing is because you have that kind of passion.
00:29I love the passion, and I'm nobody more passionate than our Dallas Cowboy fans.
00:36I'll share you one thing, and I know you guys know it. I'm not afraid to make decisions,
00:42and I can live with anything that we're talking about as far as criticism about those decisions.
00:48What I'm going to worry about is whether those decisions can pan out in a positive way.
00:55You've got a lot of reasons why they don't, and you've got a lot of teams up here
01:01looking around at some of the decisions they've made over the last few years.
01:05Just because everybody else is making bad decisions doesn't mean that justifies you
01:09making a bad decision. You say you don't go into this. We can go into this. I'm saying what I'm
01:16saying. Don't tell me what I'm saying. Okay. Jerry, why are you getting so mad at us? We're
01:22just asking you why the blowouts are happening, the historical differences at home. We're just
01:27asking about it on behalf of the fans, and you're getting real ticked off and mad at us.
01:33I'm not. Hey, can I tell you something, guys? I don't get mad at people that I can
01:39not be with if I don't want to be with. I don't get mad. You're asking me for a response,
01:46and I'm giving you a response. We got to play better, and we got to play better at specific
01:51points. No, there's no looking for stepping out here and bringing in 20 new players between now
01:57and the bye. That's not the way it works, but I like the players that we have. You go around
02:04this league, and you will see a high recognition of the quality of players we've got. We should
02:11be able to not have happened to a Sunday with our players that we've got. Shouldn't have the
02:17highest paid quarterback in the NFL and not having to have more production, but he's got
02:22to have blocking. He's got to have the routes run right, and the other thing he's got to do
02:30is it helps if he weren't playing somebody as strong as Detroit was Sunday. They were pretty
02:34strong. We hope we get a chance to show that those types of things I just mentioned works.
