00:00Now take some of the senior citizens, moving up from their house to take to some other place.
00:12Luckily we got somebody to help us to move them out.
00:15We worry because if the water keep on rising up, then it will be a problem for them.
00:20The Tanjong Tualang 6 settlement in Perak was hit by floods on Monday after days of non-stop rain.
00:27It is learned that there are about 20 families living in the settlement and many are senior citizens.
00:33Water is still knee-deep and has not receded, making it difficult for the residents to move out of their homes without assistance.
00:41Besides being without electricity for the past three days, they are also running low on food.
00:46As such, the residents decided to take matters in their own hands while waiting to be rescued by using the village tractor to move those who want to leave.
00:5657-year-old Sukdir Singh from Ipoh said he had to persuade his in-laws to move out from their home as they were running low on food and medication.
01:27In the morning, I go to the nearest clinic and take their prescription, go and collect the medicine and go and pass them.
01:32So we already managed to persuade them to move there because if the water still like this, no electricity, how they want to stay here?
01:40They don't want to let go their house. That's the problem with the senior citizens here. They still want to stay here.
01:46He added that many of the residents are livestock farmers who are reluctant to evacuate as they do not want to leave their animals behind.
01:54The residents here are very scared at the moment because they're worried if it's still raining every day, the water might be raised up.
02:02So because most of them, they have got their cows and all the chickens, whatever, so they are worried to leave them here.
02:10So that's why they don't want to move to another place at the moment.
02:14Till today, the water still remains the same, no sign of a decrease or what, so it still remains the same.
02:20So we're just worried whether this thing, they might be saying the things were getting worse by 8 to 12 December.
02:28Maybe there will be more rainfall will happen, so just worry, the families, just worry about that.
