Bristol City Council has applied for planning permission to knock down the three-storey building at 4-16 Filwood Broadway as part of a £15m regeneration plan for the high street in Knowle West including a four storey block of flats.

00:00Plans have been submitted to demolish an old row of shops and flats in South Bristol to
00:08make way for a new development. Bristol City Council has applied for planning permission
00:14to knock down the three-storey building at 4-6 Filwood Broadway as part of the £15 million
00:21regeneration plan for the High Street in North West. In its place, the Council, working with
00:26London-based architects RCKA, wants to build a new four-storey building containing 18 flats
00:33with ground-floor commercial and community spaces.
00:39The plans say that the Council is working to achieve vacant possession of the entire
00:43existing block, with the flats deemed as not habitable and currently vacant. Four of the
00:49existing ground-floor commercial units were recently occupied.
00:55The remaining units have been leased to other companies.
