00:00Meanwhile, the next year, the Department of Social Welfare and Development will roll out the Ready-to-Eat Food Packs
00:06that will provide a sufficient and substantial supply of food whenever there is a calamity.
00:11According to Special Assistant to the Secretary or SAS for Special Projects Maria Isabel Anada,
00:17they will start pre-positioning in areas that are always hit by calamities.
00:22Each RTEF box made by the Filipino experts contains 5 cans of tuna paella,
00:292 cans of chicken pastel and ground beef,
00:322 packets of arroz caldo,
00:343 packets of champorado,
00:362 pieces of high-energy biscuit or cracker,
00:39and 1 chocolate complementary food.
00:42And not only that, each box also contains 5 pieces of spoon and fork.
00:46When asked by Ms. Anada,
00:48the so-called package has been under study for a long time
00:51to ensure that it is substantial and follows the guidelines of the World Health Organization.
00:59Before a disaster occurs, there is a Ready-to-Eat,
01:02so that they will not experience hunger.
01:05So before it comes, this is it.
01:07And then after 24 hours to 48 hours,
01:11our family food pack is already there, the bigger one.
01:13So we will position this in the Philippine port areas,
01:17according to Secretary Rex,
01:18and in strategic regions where the hazards are always high.
01:22Typhoons, floods, fire, this must always be there.
01:26So that in times of emergency,
01:27immediately give it to the affected and survivors,
01:30and they will not experience hunger
01:32because as our agency said,
01:34there should be no hunger in the Philippines.
