00:00Supporting and valuing young athletes who, with their sporting success, combine their academic merits.
00:06This is the goal of the Donna Sport competition, the best school athlete.
00:11Reached the 7th edition, promoted by Gruppo Bracco and sponsored by CONI and the Italian Paralympic Committee.
00:18With a 50% more attendance than the last edition, this year 361 girls signed up for the competition.
00:26There are a lot of girls with 8.5% of average age.
00:30I am really fascinated by this great commitment that we find in the athletes who participate in our competition.
00:39It really is a completely different vision.
00:43It gives us a completely different view of young people from what is read in the newspapers.
00:51On young people full of enthusiasm who have a goal in life.
00:55The award ceremony, moderated by journalist Filippo Grassia,
00:59was held at the Teatrino di Palazzo Visconti in Milan.
01:02It had two guests of honor, the Olympic and Paralympic champions, Caterina Banti and Simone Barlam.
01:08I think that the support of the company, like the Bracco Institute, is very important.
01:13Because the studio gives you a method, it gives you tools and teaches you how to organize your life.
01:19It gives you a method that will serve you for life.
01:22But above all in sport, because sport is a method, sport is discipline.
01:26Doing well in school will make you do well in sport.
01:30And doing well in sport will make you do well in school.
01:33So I think it is fundamental, especially from a young age, to teach the boys,
01:38to push the boys to undertake both careers, even later for university.
01:43It is not easy, it is not easy because sport takes up much of the daily life of a sportsman.
01:49If not as a full-time job, actually.
01:52So a sportsman who manages to distinguish himself,
01:55to exploit the organization of sport in daily life, in the studio,
01:59it gives him a lot of honor and it is something that pays.
02:03Sport often teaches this method, which in the studio pays a lot.
02:06It has helped me, especially my superiors.
02:08When they started to take sport more seriously,
02:10my grades have improved, my school performance has improved.
02:13So it is a very important link between sport and the studio.
02:18There are 10 macro areas of sports disciplines represented in this 7th edition of a competition
02:23that always sees the proximity of sports and political institutions.
02:27When you celebrate sport and the value of sport,
02:30in particular the commitment to 360 degrees,
02:33like the commitment of these girls also in the school career,
02:37we as the Lombard Legion can only be there, to approve it and support it.
02:41It is a beautiful story, this one of the BACCO awards for women who commit themselves
02:46and therefore are good at school, because beyond recognition
02:50it is also a way to give value to what is a model of life.
