00:00It was turned over to President Ferdinand R. Marquez Jr. and First Lady Riza Araneta Marcos
00:05the original Murillo Velarde 734 map, the map that was considered the mother of all Philippine maps.
00:11According to President Marcos, the map refers to the territories and sovereignty of the Philippines,
00:17particularly in the West Philippine Sea.
00:19Meanwhile, the President instructed the duty of the current generation
00:24to continue the legacy of the said map.
00:28Let us not only admire the artistry of the masterpiece presented to us today,
00:33but also draw inspiration from its enduring message,
00:37the call to protect and to assert what is rightfully ours, with resolve and with integrity.
00:44Together, we hold the pen to write the next chapters of our nation's history,
00:49chapters that uphold the principles of justice, truth and unity.
