00:00Dinaragsang is a food fest that is being held at Maguindawa Street in Quezon City.
00:06This is a line of activity to strengthen the food business and to sell their products.
00:12Let's take a look at Gab Villegas' live.
00:16Gab?
00:19Ma'am, the Maguindawa Arts and Food Festival continues here at Maguindawa Street in Quezon City.
00:28The activity was organized by the Maguindawa Food Community and the Quezon City Government.
00:34The purpose of this is to strengthen the food businesses that are located along Maguindawa Street and to sell their products.
00:41There are about 104 food and non-food merchants located along Maguindawa from Magating Street to Malingap Street.
00:51There are 500 people from the Quezon City Police District, Quezon City Task Force Discipline, Bureau of Fire Protection and medical personnel spread out to ensure the security and safety of those who will go here.
01:03The activity started this morning through Zumba and Dragon Dance.
01:08According to Jules Gui, the President of the Maguindawa Food Community,
01:12it is also expected that there will be partnerships with other food communities such as Banawe Chinatown and Capitolio in Pasig City.
01:20The purpose of our food fest today is to go beyond Maguindawa.
01:25For this year, it is extra special because it is in line with the 85th anniversary of Quezon City.
01:31But this food fest actually started 10 years ago, in 2014.
01:36So, we are reviving it again to make it an annual event.
01:40And we are very happy because Mayor Joy Belmonte and her whole council are very supportive.
01:47Earlier this afternoon, 8 people participated in a food innovation competition to find the so-called comfort food here in Maguindawa.
01:57For Sandy Ku, Product Business Development Director of a food distribution company,
02:02they want to introduce Filipino food not only to the country but also to the whole world.
02:08All the entries were very good. They are very innovative.
02:12They presented a lot of comfort food but there is a twist into that comfort food.
02:17And it's an eye-opener for all of us because when we are trying to do the rules for the competition,
02:25we said comfort food with a twist, are we sure with that?
02:28But today, we saw that they are able to come up with very innovative dishes.
02:34Ma'am, this is the second time that Maguindawa Food Community organized the Maguindawa Arts and Food Festival.
02:43The organizers and the Maguindawa Food Community planned this activity to be an annual event.
02:51The Moa Signing was just finished by the Maguindawa Food Community,
02:56QC of Banawe Chinatown and the Capitol of Pasig City.
03:01The concert is just about to start.
03:04Different bands are expected to play, like Sud, The Ridleys, Imago, and others.
03:11The activity will last here in Maguindawa Street until 12 p.m. tonight.
03:18That's all for now, ladies. Back to you, Ma'am.
03:22Alright, you look full, Gab.
03:24It's amazing. Just wrap us up.
03:27Thank you very much, Gab Villegas.
