00:00A top-five tilt with an SEC championship at stake today in Atlanta, Georgia.
00:06It's number two Texas in its first year in the SEC, looking for its second consecutive
00:11conference crown against a team that is very well at home in the A. That is number five
00:18Georgia.
00:19Kept entering the final weekend of the college football regular season.
00:23Georgia was already into the SEC title, non-conference albeit in-state rivalry game against Georgia
00:29Tech.
00:30They were booked as the odds-on favorite to win the SEC crown.
00:34Texas still had the renewal of the Lone Star Showdown, a favorite on the road, but in College
00:39Station.
00:40You never know what could happen.
00:42Georgia tested in eight OTs by the Yellow Jackets.
00:45Texas pretty dominant on the road against A&M, winning by double digits.
00:50Line opens up for the SEC championship game.
00:53The Dawg's no longer a favorite, but a Dawg once again, like we saw the first time these
00:59two teams met way back in the middle of October in Austin.
01:03Let's start with the number, the Longhorns, a two and a half point favorite to win the
01:07SEC title today.
01:09He's the right side favorite.
01:10Obviously not.
01:11I mean, obviously not.
01:12Well, I like, then again, I guess, how could Georgia beat this Texas team?
01:17I mean, how could Georgia beat this Texas team as an, as an underdog?
01:22Oh, they already did it at Texas.
01:24Hold on.
01:25Where's this game?
01:26What is going on here?
01:27No, no, no.
01:28What is going on here?
01:29Roll reversal.
01:30I'm hosting.
01:31Go for the two and B double S, Mr. Beck.
01:34Why are you on Texas?
01:35I will be honest.
01:36There is not.
01:37There's nothing that has surprised me more.
01:39Good hosting, by the way.
01:40All season long.
01:41Okay.
01:42Two and a half point spread.
01:45Here we go.
01:46Why are you?
01:47I, by the way, you're like, I'm actually not even on a side today.
01:51Yeah.
01:52And I'll get to that.
01:53Why are you on Texas?
01:54So everything in me on precedent, on principle, you see Georgia as an underdog, you bet Georgia
02:03as an underdog.
02:04It has happened twice since the start of 2021, when the dogs went on their run winning two
02:10consecutive national championships, they beat Clemson outright in the opener in 2021.
02:15And they beat this Texas team in Austin by 15 back in week eight on October 19th.
02:22And then I started to dive into the numbers.
02:24Oh, okay.
02:25Interesting.
02:26Oh, that's a little bit interesting.
02:27They call me Benny Longhorn the way back in Texas minus two and a half.
02:34That first game was incredibly interesting where Georgia to their credit, I gave them
02:40a challenge.
02:41Maybe not me as the overwhelming authority in college football, but entering that game
02:46on this set to you guys, I said, there was one elite defense entering the matchup in
02:51Austin back to end out October.
02:53It's not the Bulldogs like it used to be.
02:55It is Texas.
02:56It was the best defensive performance we have seen out of Kirby sports dogs all year long.
03:01And since they have regressed, Texas has only improved.
03:05They have figured out their backfield and Quinn Travion Weisner being their bell cow
03:10now.
03:11And when you look at how that game played out, Quinn yours to very costly first half
03:16turnovers that led to his benching for a brief moment, then another turnover out of
03:21Arch Manning that resulted directly in two quick touchdowns for a Georgia offense that
03:26outside of a guy not playing today and Trevor ETN really did absolutely nothing.
03:31I think Texas is the right side as much as that confounds me.
03:35I think it's perception as well.
03:37Georgia goes out to Ole Miss and the perception was that Ole Miss will get rocked and Georgia
03:42got rocked in that game.
03:43And that's sorted to change the landscape and perception of Georgia.
03:47They won three straight since that time and Carson Beck has rebounded 11 touchdowns.
03:52No interceptions.
03:53He threw 175 and an interception in the win against Texas.
03:58But this defense for Texas to your point, Ben, given up only 143 passing yards per game,
04:03only four passing touchdowns allowed.
04:06They forced 18 interceptions.
04:08They dominated one of the hotter teams in the country in Texas A&M contain Marcel Reed
04:13in that offense in Kyle Field in College Station.
04:17It was a defensive effort, not an offensive effort.
04:20And we know rematches are very difficult to knock off the same team in back to back seasons,
04:24right?
04:25In the same time, basically in like six or seven weeks, right?
04:29So I think that's what's playing into it.
04:31But if we're looking at this game right now, I go back to Carson Beck and, you know, look
04:36at Georgia's defense.
04:37That's another thing.
04:38They give up 260 in back to back games on the ground to UMass, 260 to Georgia Tech in
04:43the win.
04:44A lot of people thought Georgia Tech should have won that game.
04:46If Georgia Tech wins, what's the spread?
04:49Let's just say if they were in this championship game, five, six, right?
04:53So I think that's why you're seeing the line now up until three is that the perception
04:58is Texas has the most dominant defense, but it comes down to the quarterback.
05:01I believe Carson Beck is right of the ship.
05:04He's limited the turnovers.
05:05They found something in regards to the tight end.
05:07Delp and Lucky Lawson now are integral parts of that offense since the first meeting.
05:13This is a different offense as opposed to defense, and I think they air it out.
05:17Last six games in the SEC championship have totaled 67.3 points per game.
05:24Total is 49 and a half.
05:25I'm on those dogs, but I'm also on the over guys.
