00:00The SEC opener and debut for the top team in the land that is
00:07number one, Texas. News within the last half an hour or so,
00:11Quinn Ewers not expected to play today for the Longhorns at
00:15home against Mississippi State. Is it because the abdomen
00:18strain continues to play, Kim? Is it because they looked at
00:23the spread and said 38 and a half against an SEC foe in the
00:26Bulldogs? Let's let Quinn get a couple extra weeks of rest
00:30before the Red River rivalry into Saturdays. And Kev, let's
00:34start there. Doing a little spread math and spread history
00:37here. This is the biggest SEC spread not featuring Vandy in a
00:43game since Georgia and Missouri in 2021. That was 39 points. The
00:49biggest spread ever in SEC history that does feature Vandy
00:52was Alabama in the Commodores. It was 40 and a half. What do
00:56you make of such a gargantuan number for an SEC game? This is
01:01I can only look Mississippi State because of what you said.
01:05Death Star Georgia. Okay? With basically an NFL roster out
01:10there. Hosted a Vandy team laying 37 and a half. Yeah.
01:13Unless Mississippi State is the worst team by a lot in this
01:17conference and that would include this year's Vanderbilt,
01:20I can only look their way. I know Chapin is going to be out
01:24for this game. Yeah. I'm not sure Van Buren isn't as good if
01:27not better. He led what would have been back-to-back
01:30touchdown drives when he checked in. They just ran out
01:32of time around the goal line against Florida. The the thing
01:36though, you know, the numbers dropped down from 38 and a half
01:40to 37 and a half and the fact that it dropping maybe back up,
01:44it does speak volumes to the way Texas has just been
01:48slaughtering. What is bad in front of them, Joe? I look
01:52Miss State. I'm not sure I get to the window. I actually like
01:55Miss State here. I'll tell you a couple of reasons why but to
01:57Kevin's point, I mean, the reason why you're seeing such a
02:00big number is that Texas's offense, we know that, right?
02:03But the defense is only giving up 215 total yards per game. A
02:06buck sixteen in the secondary, only 95 rushing yards per game
02:11and we know Arch is lighting it up as well, right? So, we know
02:13that Texas is going to eat in this matchup. Couple of reasons
02:16why I like Miss State. Jeff Lebby, new coach, former OC for
02:21Oklahoma has been up. He actually got the victory with
02:23Dylan Gabriel. I'm not suggesting Van Buren is as
02:27athletic or is as good as Dylan Gabriel but they did move the
02:30football in the second half against Florida. They rushed
02:32for 240 yards in that matchup. This is not a rivalry game but
02:37the last time these teams played were back in 1999, the
02:40Cotton Bowl with Ricky Williams. I just think that they
02:43can run it. Yeah. To keep it within the that that is the
02:45only way Miss State can be within this game. They go up
02:49tempo with Arch. They're going to lose this game maybe 70 to
02:52ten and then that's it. Yeah. Run it. Run it. Run it. I like
02:57the under but I really like Miss State with the point. I
02:59just want to mention Arch Manning props are hitting the
03:01market now due to the idea that Queen's not going to play.
03:04Look, a trend that is just stick with you potentially
03:07forever. Yeah. These numbers that they keep hanging for
03:10Texas starting quarterbacks against non-powered teams are
03:13always too high. No, Texas starting QB under Sarkis thrown
03:17for over 260 against a non-powered team. This is not a
03:20non-powered team despite the spread. If I was betting it, I
03:24actually would shoot it over. They might let Arch because I
03:26think Quinn's getting the job back. I know I was I think
03:29Quinn's getting the job back. Arch might go 350. He might
03:32play the whole game. He might play the whole game. Don't be
03:33surprised.
