00:00Good afternoon Sadler's fans. I've just left Vale Park where Walsall have propelled themselves
00:08into the League 2 top spot with a 1-0 victory over local rivals Port Vale. The Sadler's
00:17supporters had over 2,700, 2,711 to be exact in the away end roaring Walsall forward and
00:27Matt Sadler named an unchanged 11th in a 3-2 midweek victory over Notts County. So this
00:33result kept a fantastic week for Walsall which is now six points in six. Walsall two points
00:40clear at the top of the table with a game in hand over Port Vale who they obviously
00:46leapfrogged and the windy conditions were crazy and had a massive input on the game
00:53in terms of balls being caught in the air. Made it a very scrappy affair in the first
00:56half and Port Vale had a couple of chances. Rico Richards came close when he curled a
01:00finish wide of the far post. Taylor Allen with his delivery which proved key in the
01:06end. His direct corner which he obviously scored from against Notts County. Almost did
01:12it again but it crashed off the top of the crossbar and then at the start of the second
01:16half Walsall came on strongly and six minutes after the restart it was Taylor Allen's delivery
01:22into Jamil Matt. He brought the ball down and his strike on the half volley was saved
01:27by Connor Ripley but the ball after he got two palms to the ball looped over the Port
01:33Vale goalkeeper and into the net and that was the decisive moment although Nathan Lowe
01:38did come close to adding to Walsall's advantage. George Hall nicked the ball just inside the
01:44Vale half and David Dicabre took over. Teed up Lowe and his effort was saved but Walsall
01:52got over the line and it's three points for them against their local rivals.
