00:00Despite the fact that Notre Dame is now number four in the
00:08country with a big win last week against USC in LA and in
00:13eleven and one resume, Notre Dame will not get the opening
00:17round by but more than likely, they will host a college
00:19football playoff game which again, I don't know for these
00:22schools like if you're the Notre Dame AD or you like see
00:26this is why we'll never enter a conference because we get to
00:29play in South Bend. I like you can keep your buy. We don't
00:32necessarily care. Yeah. I don't I don't necessarily know how
00:35that works. I I said this last week. The most surprising thing
00:39maybe of the entire season is that Notre Dame could have lost
00:41last week to USC and I think they still would have been in
00:43the field but the fact that they did not lose is what's
00:47going to keep them locked into where they are. I think what's
00:49really incredible is if we had last year's format. Let's see
00:53Notre Dame would be in the playoff. A fourteen format
00:56Notre Dame not playing in a power conference would have
00:58survived and made despite losing to NIU at home. It
01:03speaks volumes to how dominant the Irish have been. Again, a
01:08lot of teams are benefiting from what feels like hey, this
01:11schedule spot worked here. This worked here but Notre Dame is
01:14not leaving any doubt in the games they've played. They won
01:16nine straight by thirty-five plus points per game and a lot
01:19of people like USC last week at seven and a half. I like them
01:22you know in terms of a potential step up spot for Lincoln
01:25Riley and what happened? It was close early but in the second
01:27half, the defense takes over. That secondary is as good as we
01:31talk about Texas. That secondary was given up 147
01:34passing yards to opposing offenses. Now, USC did move the
01:37football but I mean one of the best secondaries in all the
01:40college football. So, when you can run it, you have a veteran
01:44quarterback in your physical and the interior lines. You're
01:46going to be there and again, if the matchup is Notre Dame and
01:50Alabama like we see, it's going to be a fantastic game. And
01:53that secondary by the way, made sure the Irish covered that
01:57number with two consecutive 99-yard interception returned
02:02and then followed by a 100-yard pick six in Xavier Watts, one
02:06of the best defensive backs in the country. What's fascinating
02:09about Notre Dame, they were favored to reach the college
02:12football playoff before this season got underway. I remember
02:15it was minus 170 because I had the Irish in my field. Their
02:19win total was ten and a half. The under had the juice at
02:22minus 170. We expected Notre Dame to be a multiple loss team
02:27and still contend for a CFP spot. They lost the game.
02:30Nobody expected as a near four touchdown home favorite against
02:33Northern Illinois and then beat everybody else rather badly.
02:38Again, ten games against the hunt back teams this year.
02:42Notre Dame nine oh and one against the spread on those
02:46closing figures. Now, we get to some teams that people have
02:49argued throughout the year. Are they truly deserving based on
02:52their resume? But they have handled business in games. They
02:55were expected to win and did exactly that. Indiana in its
02:59first ever season. In 137 years as a football program. Won ten
03:05games and then they won eleven. Hammering Purdue and the old
03:09Oaken Bucket last week. Sixty-six to zip. Again, Lacey,
03:13some people might be mad that IU is in the college football
03:17playoff but let me state that again. The Hoosiers are in the
03:20college football playoff. No, deserving. I mean, when you win
03:23in a rivalry game, twenty-nine and a half point favorite, you
03:26win sixty-six to nothing especially coming off the loss
03:29to Ohio State and you rebound in a big way. I mean, granted,
03:32they did lose by margin in Columbus but that doesn't
03:35matter. An eleven and one football team, five and a half
03:38preseason win total. Kirk Cignetti, Curtis Rourke,
03:41they're deserving. Again, you know, you look at what happened
03:44last week with all the upsets to make the argument that again,
03:47eleven win football team, they could be seated higher as well.
03:50That Ohio State, you're saying? No, not Ohio State. Don't start.
03:54Oh, I'm just making sure. No, I just. But I'm just saying the
03:57way the here. That was subtle. That was good. That was nice.
