00:00The House Inca Committee investigated the middlemen in front of the high-priced rice in the market.

00:10At the hearing yesterday, the Joint Panel, also known as the Cheap Food Supercommittee,

00:16motioned House Deputy Majority Leader Janet Garin to identify the individuals and organizations

00:24responsible for the high price of rice.

00:27The Joint Panel, along with the Interpellation Committee,

00:32blamed the congressmen who were guarding the middlemen.

00:37It was pointed out that there was no particular agency operating here.

00:43According to the Department of Agriculture,

00:45even though the agency was investigating,

00:48they were guarding the movement of the high price of rice.

00:51Fortunately, the other agencies,

00:53as well as the fake shortage,

00:56called on the D.A. to return the power of the National Food Authority

01:01to buy and sell rice in order to help the situation.

01:07As of now, what is happening to us is like one of our hands is fighting tied to our back.

01:14If the power of the NFA and the authority of the D.A. Secretary is returned,

01:23the D.A. will be more effective in punishing the rice traders

01:29and we will be able to influence the price of rice.
