00:00Welcome to Medihan TV and Zoom in this chronicle on the 16th edition of the Sen Festival in Marrakech from December 17th to 21st.
00:20I am pleased to have with me Mounir Aznei, the President and Founder of this festival.
00:29Mounir Aznei, thank you very much for accepting our invitation.
00:32A word on this 16th edition of the Sen Festival.
00:35Thank you to you, Ilham.
00:37We are talking about the 16th edition of the Sen Festival, which is the festival of current cultures,
00:42which will take place in Marrakech from December 17th to 21st.
00:46This edition is a bit special because it is the edition of the resumption of the festival after many years of COVID.
00:53It was a long-term work to regroup the young talents, to reorganize a whole set-up of training,
01:02a lot of workshops to prepare the young talents for this edition.
01:06It is an edition that brings back the concert side, the animation side, the festive side of the festival scene,
01:14but it is also an edition that accompanies young talents to exhibit,
01:18to show their work in terms of pop art and also in terms of painting and artistic installations.
01:26But it is also an edition that brings back a new aspect,
01:29the continuity of the workshops that the festival offers,
01:33but with new trends, notably in artistic photography, in musical production and also in video creation.
01:43So, Mounir Aznaï, this is the 16th edition.
01:46I don't know this festival.
01:48Can you tell us a bit about it?
01:50Is it a festival that only talks about the Marrakech scene?
01:53Is it the national scene? Is it the Maghreb, Arab and international scene?
01:57And I know that there is an important aspect in this festival, which is the aspect of training and support.
02:04We would like you to introduce us to this festival.
02:08What are the disciplines that are present?
02:11How do you select the people who come to participate in this festival?
02:15In fact, the nomination that I think best describes the festival is the Pépinière,
02:24it is the Pépinière des talents, it is also the Tremplin des jeunes talents.
02:27Since the first edition, we have chosen to focus on the efforts of training
02:33and also to ensure access to the young talents of the city of Marrakech and its region for this festival.
02:40But also to bring them together with talents and artists from all over Morocco,
02:45both nationally and internationally.
02:49It is a festival that brings together artists and local talents,
02:53with national talents and also with national artists, but also with the international scene.
02:58Since in the program of the festival, every year we invite artists from all over the world.
03:03We have managed, after 16 editions, to invite artists from more than 20 countries.
03:09And also to have artists recognized nationally as well as internationally,
03:15Moroccan artists of course.
03:17And also there is the opening of the festival on the continental environment,
03:22that is to say our continent, Africa.
03:24So with artists who also participate in concerts, as well as workshops and training
03:29to accompany the young talents who come to the festival from all over Morocco.
03:34So it is an international festival, but with a vision more focused on the talents,
03:39more focused on the encouragement of these talents,
03:41but also more focused on the training of these talents to prepare them for international events.
03:46So a question anyway, since it is a festival with several disciplines and several scenes,
03:53over the course of these 15 years, we will say, of these editions that have passed,
03:57what are the arts that you have seen evolve and that strike a lot at your door?
04:04Because the Moroccan cultural scene is very, very rich.
04:08We expect it to be in cinema, in music, in art, in rap, everywhere.
04:12What is the scene that has evolved the most in your eyes?
04:17You who work a lot with young people.
04:19Well, Moroccan youth is very, very, very developed, very creative.
04:26So after 16 years of existence of the festival, we have observed that this development of these scenes,
04:34of these disciplines, it is present in all disciplines in fact.
04:40We have observed the development of the musical scene,
04:43as well as that of the artistic scene at the level of contemporary arts,
04:48as well as that of photography,
04:52which takes up more and more space with the youth and with young Moroccan artists,
04:59and also videographic creation, which also takes up enormous potential at the level of youth.
05:07So I could say that through these editions of the festival,
05:12all the arts that interest young people have undergone a very significant development
05:17since the creation of the festival in 2008 to this day.
05:21Moreover, we have also observed the emergence of many young talents
05:24who have now become artists who are known on the Moroccan scene,
05:28whether in music, in visual art, but also at the international level.
05:35So Mounir Aznaï, I know we can stay for hours talking about young people,
05:39but the time we have left is over.
05:41Thank you very much for accepting our invitation.
05:43I remind you that you are the founding president of Sun Festival here in Marrakech,
05:49and the sun of our young people continues to shine.
05:52Thank you very much to you, dear viewers, for your loyalty.
05:56Stay with us.
