There are many fantastic areas across the UK to visit for a delicious meal of fish and chips, with award-winning chippies dotted across the nation.

Here are five of the best areas in the UK to visit for a chippy.

00:00Fish and chips are a traditional meal that has been loved by Brits for many, many years.
00:05While we all have our local chippy, or maybe we like to go to a restaurant for some fish and chips,
00:11there are so many incredible establishments across the UK that offer a delicious portion.
00:16However, there are some areas in particular that are really known for their fish and chips.
00:21The first place is Wetherby in Leeds.
00:23Wetherby is home to the original Wetherby Whaler, which was founded in 1989,
00:28and it is well known for its delicious fish and chips.
00:32At number two is South Shields.
00:34South Shields is home to plenty of award-winning fish and chip shops, including Coleman's.
00:39Coleman's is a fish and chip shop on Ocean Road,
00:41which is an incredibly popular spot for residents and tourists of South Shields.
00:46At third, we have Whitby in North Yorkshire.
00:50Whitby is a popular tourist spot, and the seaside town is known for serving up some amazing fish and chips
00:56at plenty of incredible fisheries.
00:59At number four, we have Portsmouth in Hampshire.
