00:00Hello there, welcome to our latest weather forecast from the Met Office.
00:04Well today we will see some sunshine across the UK but unfortunately it's not
00:08going to last. We'll see a return to the cloudy skies as we go through the second
00:12half of the weekend. All the time we still have high pressure towards the
00:17south keeping things relatively settled here. Weather fronts continuing to move
00:20across the north but then a change as we head towards the middle part of the week
00:24we start to see this next area low pressure beginning to move in and that
00:28will bring more widely unsettled conditions as we approach the middle
00:32part of next week. But back to here and now for many parts of England, Wales,
00:36eastern Scotland we will see some sunshine this afternoon. A few showers
00:40across more western parts of Wales and England but the main bulk of the cloud
00:44and rain will be across Northern Ireland and Western Scotland. But even here I
00:48think the heaviest and most persistent rain will probably arrive after dark.
00:53For all of us temperatures around the seasonal average but I think factoring the
00:57sunshine across England and Wales it should feel a little bit less cold than
01:01it has been of late. As we move into the evening the cloud and rain across the
01:06northwest will spread its way south eastwards. Best of the clearest skies
01:10during the evening will be across the far southeast so it's here where we'll
01:13see the best opportunities to see the meteor shower. But even here by the end
01:17of the night it is going to be cloudy so we start Sunday off on a relatively grey
01:22murky note. Also some outbreaks of rain in places too but a mild one. Temperatures
01:28for all of us generally in the high single figures potentially low double
01:32figures in a few spots. So Sunday really is going to be a rather grey day for most
01:37of us. The wettest weather will be across the west and the north and the rain
01:41across Western Scotland will actually turn increasingly heavy and persistent
01:45as the day goes on. Accompanied by a strengthening wind here so quite a wet
01:49and windy picture as we end Sunday here. Further south relatively quiet still
01:55some spots of rain across the Welsh mountains maybe Dartmoor and Exmoor too.
01:58But the further east you are it should be relatively dry and it's here where we
02:02may see some glimmers of sunshine but they will be rather limited. But for all
02:06of us with the winds coming in from the west or southwest a milder picture.
02:10Temperatures for all of us in double figures potentially into low teens in a
02:16few spots. Into the evening that rain will continue to persist across Western
02:22Scotland and actually right throughout Monday itself. So we do have warnings in
02:26force across parts of Scotland. Further south a relatively quieter picture and
02:31with a little bit more breeze around that should hopefully mix up the cloud
02:34and allow some breaks to develop. So hopefully a little bit more in the way of
02:38sunshine developing on Monday. But overall still a fairly grey picture but
02:42a mild one once again. Temperatures for all of us with the exceptions of the far
02:46north of Scotland in double figures. But if you want more information about the
02:51weather where you are over the next few days can always check out our app or our
02:55website. But for me for now take care and I'll see you again soon.
