00:00The PNP's work to protect and serve the public never takes a rest or breather.

00:04To the contrary, the police has gone on heightened alert in view of the looming threat by the CPP

00:10NPA which celebrates its founding anniversary the day after Christmas.

00:25The Philippine National Police or PNP has no plans to implement a suspension of police

00:32operations or SOPO this holiday season to prevent rebels from taking advantage of the situation.

00:37According to PNP spokesperson, Police Brigadier General Gene Fajardo, the PNP is prepared for

00:42possible attacks by the Communist Party of the Philippines or CPP on the group's anniversary

00:47on December 26.

00:49History will tell us that when SOPO and SOPO, the security forces are not using the opportunity

00:57of communist terrorist groups and even the local terrorist groups to initiate their

01:03ambushes, harassments and retaliatory attacks.

01:06Meanwhile, as of December 15, the National Police Force has been on heightened alert status.

01:39Of course, we are continuously coordinating with other law enforcement agencies to make sure

01:45if they are monitoring and on the part of the PNP, we will validate this together and initiate

01:54appropriate security measures and we will ensure that this holiday season will be safe and peaceful.

02:02The first day of Simbangabi was generally peaceful nationwide.

02:05According to the Philippine National Police,

02:07the PNP reported no incidents of disorder were recorded during the launch of the Misa de Gallo.

02:12Fajardo also mentioned nearly 11,000 police officers nationwide

02:16are on field assignment to ensure the safety of the Simbangabi faithful.

02:20In addition to police assistance desks near churches, the PNP also deployed mobile and
